Gas Chromatograph works with GC/FT-IR units.

August 14, 2002 - Research-grade TRACE GC provides full digital control of all chromatographic flow rates, pressures, and timed events. Cold, on-column injector allows safe handling of thermally labile compounds while avoiding sample discrimination. It also provides for Ultra-TRACE large-volume technique (LVI), which doubles detection limit, and shortens sample preparation and analysis times.

Thermo Business Partner to Release TRACE™ GC for GC/FT-IR Products

MADISON, Wis. (August, 2002) - In a collaboration befitting the "One Thermo" strategy of Thermo Electron Corporation (NYSE:TMO), two Thermo businesses have partnered to release the TRACE GC for the GC/FT-IR product line. Upon citing the need for an improved gas chromatograph tool for FT-IR, Thermo Nicolet and Thermo Finnigan have combined technologies to develop the highest quality GC-analysis system available.

The research-grade TRACE GC from Thermo Finnigan provides full digital control of all chromatographic flow rates, pressures, and timed events. When connected to a Thermo Nicolet GC/FT-IR system, the TRACE GC not only provides premium chromatographic analysis, it does so at lower cost than the competition.

GC/FT-IR has gained importance as a means to make precise identifications of the chromatographically separated components of the sample. Chromatographic analysis is generally the first choice for determining the integrity, differences, or formulation of food, pharmaceutical, or manufactured products. Upon detecting chromatographic differences, the analyst must attempt to characterize these components further.

The TRACE GC provides superior performance in oven heating, cooling, and stability. The patented cold, on-column injector allows safe handling of thermally labile compounds while avoiding sample discrimination. It also provides for the Ultra-TRACE large-volume technique (LVI), which enhances the detection limit by two orders of magnitude and shortens sample preparation and analysis times. A selection of modular, automated sample preparation injection systems help reduce cost per analysis and increase productivity levels.

The TRACE GC is compatible with all Thermo Nicolet GC/FT-IR applications for the best performance at a low cost. Digital press and flow control for column and detector gases come standard, providing optimized chromatographic separation. With the widest selection of sample injection and automation technology available, and secured with automated leak-detection electronics, analysts can rest assured their operations are safe, reliable, and fast every time.
