Quartz Growth Systems suit high and medium pressure processes.

August 5, 2002 - Hydrothermal Quartz Growth Systems constantly control temperature and pressure within forged pressure vessel. Average cycle time is 24 to 36 days, depending on size and quality of crystals required. Equipment is suitable to make quartz components used in a wide range of applications including oscillators, frequency filters, telecommunication systems, microprocessors, color televisions, and time pieces.

Engineered Pressure Systems, Inc. Offers Hydrothermal Quartz Growth Systems

Engineered Pressure Systems, Inc. (EPSI), a world leader in custom-engineered high-pressure solutions, offers complete systems for hydrothermal growth of synthetic quartz. EPSI's quartz growth equipment is ideal for crystal growers that provide quartz components for a wide range of high-tech applications, including oscillators, frequency filters, telecommunications systems, microprocessors, color television, and time pieces. EPSI's quartz growth systems are available for both high and medium pressure processes.

EPSI's hydrothermal crystal growth takes place under constantly controlled temperature and pressure within EPSI's forged pressure vessel. Average cycle time is 24 to 36 days, depending on the size and quality of the crystals required. EPSI's quartz
growth equipment is divided into a lower dissolving section and an upper growing section and each contains its own temperature control system. During the process, alkaline solution, natural quartz nutrient and seeds are placed in the vessel. While heat
raises the pressure, small pieces of the nutrient dissolve slowly in the lower (hotter) section, allowing for the solution to rise by convection to the upper (cooler) section. During this stage, crystallization occurs on the seeds to form large monolithic crystals. The total growth process is microprocessor controlled and may be entirely controlled by a central computer.

EPSI's quartz growth equipment is available for laboratory study or pilot processes. In addition, EPSI's specialized engineers are available to provide advice and expertise on plant design, equipment, installation and start-up.
