New 1/2" Super Hawgâ„¢

Milwaukee's Powerful New High Torque Drill Features the Highest Amp Rating, Highest RPM in class and Roto-Lokâ„¢ Rotating Handle

Brookfield, WI (June 2002) - Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation announces two new powerful 1/2" Super Hawgâ„¢ High Torque Drills, models 1680-20 and 1680-21 (kit). With a powerful 13 Amp Milwaukee built motor, the Super Hawg is ideal for plumbers, electricians, HVAC contractors, plant maintenance personnel, remodeling contractors and general contractors.

Unquestioned productivity and durability are results of this new drill. With 1750 HI/450 LOW rpm accessories operate at higher rim speeds, improving their performance through wood framing. This new drill has the highest speed and highest Amp rating in its class. The low-speed clutch protects the gear train from sudden high-torque stalls. An easy rotation speed selector allows smoother HI/LOW shifts and prevents the awkward gear engagement of competitive models. The tools also feature heavy-duty helical and spiral bevel gearing housed in an all-metal gear case for bearing and spindle support.

The new Super Hawg features a positive control T-Bar front handle with a comfortable, low-profile design that gives the operator a good grip where most pressure is applied without the bulk of a bail handle. The comfortable front boot provides good grip in tight quarters and keeps heat from your hand. A two-position side handle fits either side for additional grip or bracing position. The rear handle has a tactile grip for comfort and control.

The tools have the Milwaukee designed 90° Roto-Lokâ„¢, left/right rear handle rotation that allows the operator to maintain the grip and body position of the switch and direct the chuck in 90° drilling angles. They also have a rocker reverse switch that is easily operated by thumb if quick reverse is needed to remove a wedged bit in a tight spot.

Other features include external brush covers that let the operator remove the brush cartridge and replace brushes on the job; a 9' grounded rubber cord; reliable high Amp rated on/off switch and ball and roller bearing construction.

Standard equipment for the 1680-20 includes the tool and side handle. The 1680-21 includes the tool, side handle and impact resistant carrying case.

The 1/2" Super Hawg High Torque Drills are backed by Milwaukee's limited warranty and Service Plus Program, providing one year of free maintenance when shipped to a Milwaukee Branch Office/Service Center.
