Delta Takes a Breath of Fresh Air with New Dust Management Products
JUNE 20, 2002 - New York City, NY - Delta Machinery announced today a new line of dust management products - models AP200 (air purifier) and 50-875 (remote air purifier), and models AP300, AP400, and AP050 (dust collection) - today during a press conference at the Hotel InterContinental in New York City. Delta Product Manager Angie Shelton said, "We've created a spectrum of dust management products that not only collect dust efficiently while attached to the tool, but also recycle surrounding air in the workshop to prevent users from breathing the very fine particles - even less than 5 micron - that can be harmful to your lungs."
Beginning with the air purification units, the model AP200 is a 1/8 HP single phase unit offering 750 cubic feet per minute (CFM) capacity. Its one micron inner filter coupled with a five micron outer filter works in tandem to recycle the air in a 20' x 20' x 8' room 16 times per hour. Eye bolts make it convenient to hang anywhere in the workshop. Although the model AP200 is perfect for the workshop, its versatility makes the unit ideal for other applications in the home, such as drywall sanding. Convenient handles allow users to easily transport the model AP200 from room to room. Additionally, non-marring rubber feet protect the floor or other surfaces while minimizing vibration. The model AP200 includes the basic unit, four eye bolts and flange nuts, rubber feet, a six foot cord with on/off switch, and instruction manual. Available in September 2002, the model AP200 is expected to sell for approximately $169.
With a remote control 1/5 HP motor, the three-speed air purification model 50-875 offers 1,300 CFM capacity on its "high" setting, 850 CFM on its "medium" setting, and 650 CFM on its "low" setting. Its one micron pleated inner filter and electrostatic outer filter is 91% efficient down to one micron. For maximum air flow and long filter life, a patented dirty filter indicator measures the air flow in the unit and alerts the user when filters need cleaning or changing. With the remote control, turning the model 50-875 on and off, or to change the speed setting is simple without ever having to access the unit itself. A time-delay shut-off includes a timer that can run up to 7.5 hours, allowing the model 50-875 to shut itself off. Additionally, the pleated inner filter can be changed quickly and easily without the need for tools. The model 50-875 comes complete with the basic unit, hanging hooks, electrostatic filter, one micron pleated inner filter, and three-speed remote control with auto-timed shut-off. Available in September 2002, the unit is expected to sell for approximately $249.
In an effort to combat and capture harmful dust and particles at the tool itself, Delta has also developed dust collection kits including the model AP300K, model AP400K, and model AP050 4" accessory kit.
The AP300K features a portable ¾HP model AP300 unit that touts a 115/230 volt (60Hz) single-phase motor offering a 550 CFM capacity. Available in September 2002, the model AP300K is expected to sell for approximately $179. The AP400K features a 1 HP model AP400 unit that touts a 115/230 volt (60Hz) single-phase induction-type motor offering a 650 CFM capacity. Also available in September 2002, the model AP400K is expected to sell for approximately $199.
Both kits come complete with two (2) pieces of 4" x 5' hose, two (2) elbows, one (1) T-connector, four (4) quick connectors, two (2) blast gates, one (1) hose-to-hose connector, eight (8) hose clamps, six (6) wall clamps, a hardware pack, and instruction manual.
Rounding out Delta's new dust collection system is the model AP050 accessory kit. This 4" collection starter kit includes one piece of 4" x 20' hose, three (3) elbows, two (2) T-connectors, eight (8) quick hose connects, four (4) blast gates, two (2) 4" hose-to-hose connectors, 14 hose clamps, 12 wall mount clamps, a hardware pack, and instruction manual. Available in September 2002, the model AP050 is expected to sell for approximately $99.
