Per-Fil to Introduce New Control Package at East Pack

PER-FIL Industries Inc. will demonstrate for the first time our SMART control package at the EAST PACK show in June. This control package allows PER-FIL filling equipment to be connected to the customer's LAN or the filler can be web enabled. PER-FIL's SMART controls allow access (with password protection) from anywhere on the network to all filler functions, including a direct terminal emulation which can control or view operations as if you were standing at the filler operator interface. Collected data (such as fill weights) can be viewed and downloaded from the web page. With proper connection, worldwide control and operation of PER-FIL Filling Equipment is possible.

PER-FIL's SMART controls also automatically send an e-mail on occurrence of any fault or event. This e-mail can be sent to a production manager or even to PER-FIL's service department, so that PER-FIL can monitor the operation of the equipment and make recommendations to optimize the operation. SMART controls also can automatically send e-mail with an attached file of fill weights or other data at the end of a batch. For example: weights are collected and the batch is set for 1000. After 1000 fills, the weights are sent in an e-mail to be downloaded later into a spreadsheet. The batch is then reset and a new set of 1000 weights will be collected. This all happens without intervention from the filler operator.

E-mail can also be sent by an operator from the filler touch screen by directly entering a message
while the filler is running.

E-mail events can be configured and download to the Filler from anywhere on the network at any time.

PER-FIL's SMART controls also allow filler recipes to be read, created, modified and backed up from any PC on the network. Additionally, with SMART controls the PLC program can be uploaded, downloaded and monitored from any PC on the network.
