All-Web Enterprise-wide Quality Management System Release
(Omnex Systems, LLC, Ann Arbor, MI) Omnex Systems announces the release of its Enterprise-wide Quality Management Systems, or EwQMS™ at the Quality Expo Detroit in Novi Michigan at 10 am, Wednesday, June 12, 2002 in the Press Room. The re-designed suite includes AQuA Pro, Audit Pro, BOSS, Document Pro, HR Pro, MSA Pro, Process Pro, and TPM Pro. The only thing the user needs is a WWW Consortium-compliant web browser and access to the intra/internet. Organizations can maintain all documents and data on a central server while allowing individual locations to manage access to site-specific documents and activities.
EwQMS is a total Business/Quality System. Omnex Systems' web-based suite cuts down implementation time and helps organizations maintain their systems more effectively. The centerpiece of the system is Document Pro. All of the quality or business documentation of policies, procedures, work instructions, forms/checklists and the document control process are housed and managed through Document Pro. Employees, suppliers and customers can go to a single location to view any ISO-required or company-specific document that you have given them permission to see.
Document Pro handles the approval and management processes electronically. With electronic signatures built into the approval (routing) process, printed copies of a document become redundant. Document Pro can also handle informal routings for draft documents in order to get review before the formal approval process. As part of the (internal and external) customer relationship management process, any user of the EwQMS suite can initiate a Complaint Notification that includes the identification of the product or service concerned and detailed information about the incident. This information is automatically routed, with e-mail notification, to the individual responsible for that product or service. Document Pro tags the status as open until the responsible individual enters a corrective action or problem resolution report.
Product Realization
While Document Pro manages the access to released documents, those documents are generated from the other modules in the suite. On the Product Realization side, AQuA Pro is the web-based version of Omnex Systems' popular APQP software for product/service realization, with a twist. As in the past all the manufacturing and design information--process flow, PFMEA/DFMEA, testing data, warranty data, PPAP etc.--are available, but now they interact in a way that allows for minimal development time, consistency of information between design and process documents, and the ability to use this information in problem resolution and in breakthrough strategy activities.
Other parts of the process realization modules are MSA Pro and TPM Pro. MSA Pro is consistent with the latest (3rd) edition of the QS-MSA Reference Manual. It enables you to analyze your measurement systems, manage the calibration process, and determine the uncertainty of calibrated instruments. Although TPM Pro was initially developed to support the Total Productive Maintenance strategy, it has been expanded to meet the needs of the entire preventive maintenance system.
Management System
For key product and/or process measurables, management review, meeting management and reporting, and/or continual improvement, there is BOSS, the suite's business operating system software. BOSS has all the forms, reports and charts to meet established business and quality operating system (QOS) implementation and ISO's continual improvement effort requirements. It is a very powerful tool that can track all of an organization's data to meet customer requirements and continually improve its processes.
Business Process Solutions
To understand business (transactional) processes such as the purchasing process, marketing process, hiring process, etc. as required by ISO 9001:2000, there is Process Pro.
Audit Management
To evaluate the compliance and effectiveness of processes, Omnex Systems offers Audit Pro. It is capable of planning, scheduling and managing all types of audits, including QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949:2002, ISO 14000, Product Audits, Process Audits, Housekeeping, and Safety Audits for each and every location. This unique and powerful tool has been improved with the additional capabilities of audit cycles and extended management reports.
EwQMS's data exchange capabilities allow for the transfer of any data maintained by the suite to and from any ODBC system and several other common storage structures (e.g. Excel™). It can be scheduled to update the suite periodically, without direct user intervention. This integrated collection of modules was developed with the "lean" principle of eliminating waste-time wasted entering the same information multiple times into different programs, time wasted switching focus or transferring data between programs, and time wasted reformatting information for different customers.
Omnex Systems' web-based suite allows information to be easily shared between facilities and different locations. Each location will have access to the most recent data on product and process design, audits and corrective actions, documentation, measurement systems, all at one place-on the web.
