Positioning Modules come in linear and rotary versions.
June 18, 2002 - ALM series linear module uses ballscrews or synchronous belt drive for rapid and accurate movement. Monorail guideways allow for accurate guidance under high tilting or tipping torques. ALS series linear module can be driven with synchronous belt, ballscrew, or pneumatic cylinder. ARS series rotary module complements ALM and ALS modules. It has sealed housing and is able to withstand high axial and radial loads. Unit is worm gear driven through eccentric cam.

New Linear and Rotary Automation Modules
Bedford, MA, May 22, 2002-Schneeberger, Inc. will exhibit at IMTS, a new line of precision Linear-Rotary Modules. Booth display will feature a moving three-axis stage that is structured with linear modules from the ALM series.
Three different dynamic and robust modules are available:
- Our ALM series is a compact linear module utilizing Schneeberger Ball Monorail guideways to allow for accurate guidance under high tilting or tipping torques. This module incorporates a tape cover to protect the unit from the ingress of contaminants, offering a longer service life. Using ballscrews or synchronous belt drive provides rapid and accurate movement. This module is offered in four sizes and drive options.
- Our ALS series is a ready to install linear module that can be driven with a synchronous belt, ballscrew or pneumatic cylinder, assuring high positioning accuracy, repeatability and high speed. Stability and rigidity are guaranteed due to the incorporation of hardened steel shafts, precision linear bearings, and a rigid aluminum profile. This module is offered in four sizes and drive options.
- Our ARS series is a robust rotary module that can be used to complement both the ALM and ALS modules. The ARS offers a sealed housing suitable for all installation variations and is able to withstand very high axial and radial loads through the use of cross roller bearings. The unit is worm gear driven through an eccentric cam and can be adjusted to have practically no backlash. Also offered is a dimensioned through bore for applications which require a clearance passage for handling wires or cables. Six sizes are offered for the ARS series.
Schneebeger modules are used in all phases of manufacturing, assembly and handling processes in markets such as machine tools, packaging machines, injection molding, food industry machines, medical technology, semiconductor production machines, automotive and many more.
The Schneeberger Linear-Rotary Modules will be on display at IMTS-2002 in Chicago from September 4-11, 2002. The Schneeberger booth number is 4266.
