Force Test Stands are controlled by PCs.
May 29, 2002 - Tabletop TC²-i and SnapShot-i provide compression, tension, and flexure testing capabilities up to 550 and 220 lbf, respectively. Both use intelligent load cells that send test data directly to PC via serial port with speed of 2,000 samples/sec. User-friendly i-software controls test stand and compiles data. Analytical capabilities include graphing, data interrogation, and exporting. Both are programmable for crosshead travel speed from 0.039 to 19.7 ipm.

Affordable New i-Series Force Test Stands Offer Easier, More Complete Control Over Tests Through A Windows(TM) PC
Fairmont, MN-April 23, 2002 -Dillon Quantrol has unleashed "The Power of i" in two new force test stands that offer greatly enhanced levels of control and ease-of-use through software and integration with a laptop or desktop PC running Microsoft Windows™. The new i-series, the Dillon Quantrol TC²-i and the Dillon Quantrol SnapShot-i computer-controlled force test systems, are designed to provide easier and more powerful compression, tension and flexure testing capabilities in a tabletop system that is priced far less than competitive systems.
Both systems in the i-series incorporate Dillon's new "intelligent" load cells that send test data directly to the PC via the serial port, at an impressive speed of 2000 samples per second. The i-software is a user-friendly graphical interface to control the test stand and compile data. The control panel mode is designed to resemble a traditional force gauge, with measurements shown in a digital display. Beneath this intuitive interface lies a powerful set of force test control capabilities, allowing users to easily write, modify, save and recall test programs as needed. The software incorporates considerable analytical capabilities with powerful graphing, data interrogation and exporting features.
The i-system offers extremely quiet operation and ultra-fast data collection of 2,000 readings per second. Load cells are available in a range from 5N (0.44 lbf) up to 2500N (550 lbf) test capacity. The TC²-i system has a 2500N (550 lbf) capacity with an extruded column for greater strength and 20 inches (510 mm) of headroom. The SnapShot-i system is an ideal entry-level system for applications up to 1000 N (220 lbf) testing capacity with 13 inches (330 mm) of headroom. Both the TC2-i and the SnapShot-i are programmable for crosshead travel speed from 0.039 to 19.7 inches (1 to 500 mm) per minute, with load accuracy of 99.9% and crosshead travel accuracy of 99.97% or better.
Both models feature heavy-duty construction including a cast base and a splash-proof membrane control panel. The i-series offers flexibility with interchangeable "plug-and-play" load cells with identification coding. A large array of standard grips and accessories are available, as well as custom-built fixtures for specific applications.
