New Interface Added to Pressure Systems' Intelligent Pressure Standard Increases Ease of Use
Hampton, VA, May 2002 - A new serial interface that has been added to Pressure Systems Inc.'s Series 970 Intelligent Quartzonix(TM) pressure standard enables users to switch between RS232 and RS485 protocols. The new switchable interface increases the ease of use by directly connecting the Series 970 to data monitoring devices, such as laptops and PCs. This eliminates the need for an additional connector to link the
product to a monitoring device's Comms port.
The Series 970 is ideal for use as a precision barometer in semiconductor photolithography, pressure calibration, and meteorological reference applications. The Series 970 Intelligent Quartzonix pressure standard combines a vibrating quartz beam technology with low power miniature digital electronics to achieve a fully compensated ±0.01% FS static accuracy and a resolution of ±0.001% FS. The pressure standard
has a stability of better than ±0.01 % FS over six months. With a low power consumption design and a programmable sleep mode, the Series 970 is useful in remote battery-powered applications. The pressure standard is also available with an oil-filled capillary tube for water level measurement applications, including storage tanks.
The Series 970 is available in pressure ranges up to 500 psia, including barometric pressure range of 11-16 psia, with pressure output available in a wide range of engineering units. Standard calibrated temperature range is 0°C to 60°C (32°F to 140°F) with an optional range of -20°C to 70°C (-4°F to 158°F) available. Acceleration sensitivity is ±0.004% FS/G and vibration sensitivity is ±0.001% FS/G.
Pricing for the Series 970 Intelligent Quartzonix pressure standard with an RS232/RS485 interface starts at $2,795. Delivery is 8 to 12 weeks ARO.
