Dec 14, 2011 Offering quality assurance testing in field, Guided Side-Bend Tester can perform bend-back test on polyethylene pipes with 1-7 in. of wall thickness. Testing method places entire wall thickness into tension and gives assurance of ductility. Tester works by using planer to cut test coupon that is then put into hydraulically powered device. Testing device bends coupon to strain fusion joint past material's yield point. If no breaks or gaps are visible, coupon and fusion joint have passed test.

Sep 21, 2010 Using In-Field Tensile Tester, contractors and pipeliners can accurately test high-density polyethylene butt fusion joints in field. Hand-pump safely tests coupons from pipes sized 2 in. IPS and larger. Tester also incorporates template that is attached to pipe to create coupon through use of drill and reciprocating saw. Coupon is then inserted into hand-pump tensile test unit, which performs destructive test to qualitatively pass or fail joint.
