Apr 18, 2002 FPC5010S Smart Bypass monitors drive load and speed, and automatically transfers motor from VFD control to across-the-line at full speed. Removing drive from circuit improves efficiency of system by as much as 5%. It also improves harmonic distortion at full load by removing drive from circuit when harmonic content is greatest. Controller continues to monitor demand and, when requirements are reduced, transfers motor back to drive control.
