Dynamic Braking Resistors meet UL and CSA standards.

Magnetek, Inc.    Menomonee Falls, WI 53051
Dec 17, 2013 Designed to meet UL508A and CSA C22.2 No. 14 safety standards, Dynamic Braking Resistors work in concert with company’s Dynamic Braking Units to dissipate regenerative energy generated from motors controlled by IMPULSEŽ brand variable frequency drives. Units are designed specifically for crane and hoist duty cycles and are available in grid, wire wound, or edge wound resistor coils mounted in ventilated enclosures.

Sep 27, 2013 Designed to automatically stabilize loads by detecting and minimizing rapid increases in motor torque, Anti-Shock technology on IMPULSEŽ•VG+ Series 4 Controls minimizes potential for crane damage caused by operator-induced load shock. Proactive approach not only protects crane and building, it increases operator safety by minimizing risk for mechanical failure. After stabilizing load, hoist automatically reaccelerates to speed operator had initially selected.

Jul 17, 2013 To minimize energy consumption, IMPULSE•D+ Active Front End Regeneration Unit captures surplus regenerative energy from motor that would normally be expended by resistors and returns it to AC power source. System is designed to minimize line harmonics below IEEE 519 requirements while regulating consistent DC bus voltage. With 230 V class rated from 5–150 hp and 460 V class rated to 450 hp, IMPULSE•D+ is suited for applications that include high demand braking cycle and adjustable speed.

Feb 05, 2013 Eliminating need for dynamic braking resistors, AC Line Regenerative Systems take surplus regenerative energy from motor and return it to AC power source, reducing total energy consumption and improving energy efficiency by 40–45%. These industrial grade units are available in 2 types: IMPULSEŽ•R units are offered with ratings from 5–100 hp, while IMPULSEŽ•D+ HHP modular, regenerative inverter platform is suitable for applications beyond 200 hp.

Sep 07, 2012 Available in 400 MHz and 2.4 GHz, Flex VUE(TM) has built-in color display that keeps operator informed of system status and diagnostics - battery life, signal strength, warnings - at all times. Operators can configure transmitter directly via display menu, and available 2-way feedback provides information on machine parameters, alarms, and command confirmation. For accurate and smooth operation, 4, 8, or 12 two-step or stepless pushbutton configurations are available.

Sway Control System is available for retrofit installations.

Magnetek, Inc.    Menomonee Falls, WI 53051
Aug 22, 2012 As external retrofit, IMPULSEŽ Sway Control System Series 2 meets variety of overhead crane application requirements. It can be used with nearly any manufacturer's variable speed drive and eliminates need for complete overhaul or replacement of existing controls. This retrofit improves crane productivity by allowing operators to move loads at full speed without danger of load sway damaging equipment.
