Dec 17, 2012 Using electrothermal vaporization for sample introduction, SPECTRO ARCOS ICP-OES Spectrometer penetrates sensitivity range of flow discharge sector field mass spectrometers, opening application areas in solid material analysis. When using ETV, solid samples are vaporized in oven at up to 3,000°C. Graphite vaporization chamber uses argon as inert gas. After vaporization, analyte is transported as dry aerosol to ICP instrument with argon/reaction gas stream. Sample vaporization takes just 2 minutes.

Mobile Metal Analyzers include plasma generator.

Mar 13, 2012 Incorporating transport trolley and 15 in. display, SPECTROTEST Metal Analyzers utilize pluggable UV probe for both spark and arc excitation. Units can identify low-alloy steels using carbon content in rapid arc excitation mode. In spark excitation mode, devices can analyze carbon, phosphorous, and sulfur. Incorporated plasma generator makes it possible to do hundreds of measurements with single battery charge, and ICAL logic system monitors correct state of measuring system.

Oct 19, 2011 SPECTRO xSORT energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometer enables in-field elemental testing and spectro-chemical analysis of metals and other materials. Available with integrated video camera and GPS, instrument provides grade identification and material verification for metals and most alloys within 2 sec of clicking trigger; light-metal alloys require 12 sec to process. Other features include grade libraries, SDD detector, and detection limits down to ppm range.

Spectrometer can perform trace analysis of pure metals.

AMETEK Spectro Analytical Instruments Inc.    Mahwah, NJ 07430
Jun 30, 2011 SPECTROLAB offers photomultiplier detectors relative to single spark evaluation and time-resolved spectroscopy along with flexible line selection and ability to combine analytical and reference lines from charge-coupled device detectors. Optical resolution and 750 nm focal width in both optical segments maximize results for trace analysis of pure metals as well as examination of all conceivable material combinations and alloys. Instrument makes entire spectrum, from 120-780 nm, available.
Mass Spectrometer provides simultaneous measurements.

AMETEK Spectro Analytical Instruments Inc.    Mahwah, NJ 07430
Jun 09, 2010 Featuring inductively coupled plasma, SPECTRO MS simultaneously records entire elemental spectrum between lithium and uranium for every analysis. Ion optic transports ions from plasma into spectrometer, while removing neutral particles and photons from beam. Direct charge detector with 4,800 channels is placed in focal plane of spectrometer measuring mass spectrum with average of 20 channels/isotope. By recording contents of different isotopes, instrument opens variety of applications.
