Suitable for glass thicknesses down to 0.07 mm, Tin Oxide and Index-Matched Indium Tin Oxide as well as narrow and broadband AR coatings optimize optical throughput and minimize stray light noise while providing low reflectance. Coatings can be applied to 150 and 200 mm wafers as well as 6 in. square substrates. Applications include spatial light modulators, micro-displays, and optical shutters; mobile and vehicle mounted displays; and slim format sensor cover glass.

Multiple technologies and machining processes are available to support technical glass and optics shapes, surfaces, edging, and hole drilling requirements. Depending on glass substrate material, thickness, hole diameter, and edge quality requirements, options for meeting application-specific machined glass requirements include CNC machining, opposed edge drilling, or abrasive material removal or sandblasting. Chemically strengthened in post-production process that creates deep compression layer on surface of glass structure, High Ion-Exchange Thin Glass offers scratch, shock, and impact resistance. Glass is available in thicknesses from 0.5-2.0 mm, which can be custom-fabricated to meet application requirements. Anti-reflective coatings can be applied for optimized display readability in bright light conditions, whether indoors or outside, in sizes up to 27 in. diagonal.

Heat and vacuum shrunk glass and quartz tubing up to 6 in. dia can be delivered to ID tolerances up to ±0.0002 in. on precision stainless steel and molybdenum mandrels. Vertical and horizontal shrinking lend to precise product control over tubes in lengths to 144 in. Fabricators can process assortment of raw materials in various combinations, and concentric and centerless grinding can be performed to same precision tolerances as ID work. Various finishing and other options are available.

Custom-designed to meet user requirements, Abrasion Resistant Optical Windows are available with 3 different levels of anti-reflective coatings that meet various MIL specifications. Applied via electron beam guns with ion-assisted deposition to surface of glass substrates, optical coatings alter interaction with wavelengths of light in terms of reflectance, transmittance, and absorption as well as abrasion resistance and electrical conductivity. Screen printing of glass substrates is available in sizes up to 56 x 86 in. or 1,422.4 x 2,184.4 mm with tolerance of ±0.030 in. or ±0.76 mm, depending on part size and image. Substrate thicknesses range from 0.039-0.75 in. or 1-19 mm. Available in multiple standard and custom colors, including metallics, opaques, and semi-transparent inks, large format screen printing is suited for large touch panels and display screens, outdoor displays, and digital signage.

Via class 1000 clean room with Ekra X4 automated printing system, screen printing meets print-to-packaging cleanliness and efficiency standard. System prints with accuracy of ±15µm @ 4 sigma, ensuring precision printing in formats up to 460 x 460 mm. Print projects can utilize combination of conductive or display inks, along with custom color matching, to meet each unique application requirements. Suited for outdoor use or environments where moisture is present, hydrophilic coatings reduce distortion by interacting positively with water and causing condensates to spread uniformly over surface of coated glass. They comply with MIL-C-675C for severe abrasion and can be applied on glass substrates for optics applications with wavelengths from 350-2,700 nm. Available as coated and laminated solutions, hydrophobic coatings create barrier against dirt, dust, and liquids.

Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) and Index-Matched Indium Tin Oxide (IMITO) coatings are optically transparent and can be applied to various technical and commercial glass substrates. Able to be designed with sheet resistances below 5 ohms per square, IMITO solutions inhibit effects of EMI, RFI, and ESD. By using ITO coating, EMI, RFI, and ESD are minimized and may be virtually eliminated. Coatings are resistant to flaking, peeling, cracking, delaminating, and crazing.
