Aug 04, 2014 Reducing complexity of CT scanner system design, ADAS1131 embeds 256 integrators, simultaneous sample-and-hold circuitry, and 2 high-speed ADCs with configurable sampling rates. Module also incorporates all associated internal buffers as well as decoupling and by-pass capacitors for data acquisition. With 0.8 mm pitch, 15 mm² BGA package can be mounted on standard PCB substrate. This 256-channel, 24-bit current-to-digital converter module consumes 3 mW per channel at any throughput.

All 4 switching regulators operate over wide input voltage range of 4.5–15 V and are synchronized to single clock with programmable range of 250 kHz to 1.4 MHz. Programmable phase shifts of 0°, 90°, 180°, 270° on each buck regulator minimize input ripple.

Response-independent of waveform types, product operates from -55 to +125°C and offers power-down capability to 250 µA.

Multiplexed device provides up to 90 dB 50 Hz and 60 Hz line frequency rejection using 50 Hz and 60 Hz rejection filters. Measured on single channel, converter delivers as many as 17.2 noise-free bits at 250 kSPS and 22 noise-free bits at 5 SPS. Product comes in 24-lead TSSOP package and consumes 7.8 mA.

Current limit protection allows use of smaller inductors, and switching frequency can be synchronized to external clock. Operating over -40 to +125°C junction temperature range, 168 mm² solutions also provide precision-enable input and power-good output.
