When in motion, unit couples position and velocity measurements from GPS receivers with measurements from inertial sensors to provide position, velocity, and attitude estimates. GPS receivers also provide True North heading measurements when sensor is stationary via GPS compassing techniques.

Onboard microprocessor runs aerospace-grade Kalman filter algorithm at rate of up to 200 Hz and provides accuracies better than 0.25° in pitch and roll and 0.75° in heading.

Feb 01, 2012 Encased in 33 x 26 x 9 mm aluminum package, VN-100 Rugged is built on 9-axis suite of factory calibrated MEMS accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers. Unit provides accuracies of better than 0.5° in pitch and roll and 2° in heading. Each sensor is calibrated for bias, scale factor, and misalignment errors. Running on all VN-100 sensors at 200 Hz, Vector Processing Engine(TM) sensor fusion algorithm allows sensors to output real-time orientation estimates and inertial measurements.

Apr 01, 2010 Housed in surface mount package for integration into existing enclosures, VN-100 Attitude Heading Reference System combines all sensors needed to accurately compute full 3D orientation, angular rates, and inertial acceleration. Attitude estimation algorithm, installed onboard 32-bit ARM processor, fuses sensor data from separate onboard MEMS sensors together with statistical data, which represents uncertainty, or expected amount of error, in each corresponding measurement.
