TPMS Sensors expand vehicle coverage with 315 MHz version.

Continental    Allentown, PA 18106
Jun 03, 2014 As part of 4 available VDO REDI-Sensor™ Multi-Application TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) Sensor models, Part No. SE10003 is 315 MHz sensor that extends applicable coverage for Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Volvo, GM truck (PWM), Subaru, and other Asian models. Range of sensors enables replacement of 200+ OE sensors on range of domestic, Asian, and European vehicles. No sensor programming/cloning steps are required, and product follows existing OE vehicle relearn procedures.

Sensor Kit facilitates TPMS service for automotive shops.

Continental    Allentown, PA 18106
Sep 24, 2013 Addressing needs of automotive technicians, VDO REDI-Sensor Installer Kit comes with 1 of each of 3 REDI-Sensor sensor assemblies and 4 sensor service kits. REDI-Sensor Multi-Application TPMS Sensor Program let technicians cover 85% of TPMS-equipped vehicles without waiting for parts delivery. Tackle box has adjustable compartment trays to help shops store and organize REDI-Sensor TPMS replacement sensors and service kits, ensuring all components are readily accessible.

Seatbelt Safety Function reduces auto accident injury severity.

Continental    Allentown, PA 18106
Aug 08, 2013 ContiGuard Active Emergency Belt Control tightens seatbelts immediately prior to accident, reducing severity of possible injuries by up to 15%. Automatic tightening occurs via reversible electro-mechanical belt tensioner. For additional safety, car windows and sunroof also shut automatically to prevent objects from entering. For this function, driving status of vehicle is analyzed in Safety Control Unit (SCU) with help of vehicle dynamics sensors and signals from other surrounding sensors.
On-Board Recorder helps fleets, operators protect CSA scores.

Continental    Allentown, PA 18106
Apr 16, 2013 Installed in 15 min, VDO RoadLog™ Electronic On Board Recorder (EOBR) enables drivers to record and report key compliance data. Built-in printer creates instant paper report of daily log book data, hastening roadside inspections. In addition to delivering automated Hours of Service (HOS) logs with GPS accuracy, system can also provide compliance data such as Vehicle Inspection and Repair Maintenance (DVIR). Unit can also issue allowable limit warnings and supports data download via USB.
Camera Systems improve visibility inside/outside marine vessels.

Camera Systems improve visibility inside/outside marine vessels.

Continental    Allentown, PA 18106
Feb 18, 2013 Suited for remote viewing of engine rooms, VDO Camera Systems are also able to eliminate blind spots around boat to improve maneuverability and safety. Vibration-resistant systems are available with 100% waterproof housing, 5.6 or 7 in. color display monitors (single and quad screen) that offer normal/mirror modes, and IR LEDs for nighttime vision. Complete program includes mini cameras, rear view cameras, and side view cameras. Rear view cameras offer optional audio input.

Acceleration Sensor enhances electric vehicle safety.

Continental    Allentown, PA 18106
Feb 17, 2011 Intended for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, evSAT sensor employs algorithm to detect frontal, rear, or side collision. Accident information is passed onto battery management system, which then shuts off high-voltage battery to eliminate risk of electric shock faced by emergency service personnel responding to accident victims. Comprised of independent triaxial sensor with CAN interface, sensor enables battery shut-off within 0.5 sec of accident of 4 sec max during rollover.

Crash Sensors accelerate relay of crash data.

Continental    Allentown, PA 18106
Nov 30, 2010 Crash Impact Sound Sensor improves vehicle occupant protection by using structure-borne noise generated during frontal and side-impact collisions to determine how airbags deploy. Analyzing and evaluating collision within milliseconds, algorithms relay data about crash event to vehicle's restraints control module so airbags and pre-tensioners can be fired with proper force at timing. Side-mounted pSAT sensors detect pressure changes in door cavity using entire side door as sensing area.

Safety Sensor System helps pedestrians survive road accidents.

Continental    Allentown, PA 18106
Oct 18, 2010 Comprised of air hose connected to 2 pressure sensors built flexibly into bumper, pedestrian protection system recognizes collisions with pedestrians and supplies safety systems with information needed to trigger protective measures. Within 10-15 msec of impact, active hood of vehicle is triggered and raised by actuators. This prevents struck pedestrian from being severely injured or killed by impact with hood and underlying engine block.

Optical Sensor prevents traffic crashes in urban areas.

Continental    Allentown, PA 18106
May 25, 2007 By scanning up to 10 m in front of vehicle, closing velocity (CV) sensor helps drivers completely avoid or reduce severity of collisions when traveling at speeds under 25 mph. If calculated distance determines imminent collision, system responds by putting brakes on alert mode to ensure sufficient pressure for stopping. System also initiates automatic braking up to 0.5 g if driver takes foot off accelerator, regulates/optimizes braking power, and tightens seat belts.
