Jul 29, 2010 IntelliMAX(TM) FPF1038/FPF1039 help designers reduce in-rush current when switch is used to disconnect loads with output capacitances above 100 µF. Specifically, slew-rate controlled turn-on characteristics with TR=2.7 mS prevent voltage droop on supply rails with bulk capacitances as large as 200 µF. Slew-rate controlled low-impedance MOSFET switch (21 mW typ) joins features such as less than 1 µA consumption, load discharge path, ESD protection, and GPIO/CMOS compatible-enable circuitry.

Jul 29, 2010 Model FAN5362 features VIN of 3.6 V and VOUT of 2.9 V, allowing it to deliver peak efficiency of 94% and maintain over 86% efficiency at light load of 1 mA. As battery approaches lower end of range, unit transitions seamlessly into and out of 100% duty cycle operation and is designed to respond with minimal under and overshoot. Measuring 0.96 x 1.31 mm with 0.6 mm profile, 3 MHz, 500 mA regulator works in conjunction with small I/O capacitors and 0805 multilayer chip inductors.

Op-Amp enables low power consumption in portable designs.

Fairchild Semiconductor    San Jose, CA 95134
Apr 02, 2010 Supplied in 5-pin SC-70 package, FAN4931 operational amplifier (op-amp) helps extend battery life and conserve board space in portable and consumer designs. It consumes 200 µA of power and, with common mode voltage range extending beyond positive and negative rails, promotes design flexibility. Operation from 2.5-5 V accommodates needs of portable and consumer products such as sensor interfaces, disc drives, cell phones, GPS devices, and MP3 players.

Low ICCT Gates lower power consumption in mobile devices.

Fairchild Semiconductor    San Jose, CA 95134
Mar 22, 2010 Low ICCT gate TinyLogic devices offer up to 99% reduction in quiescent power consumption when input high voltage is less than supply voltage. Packaged in an ultra-compact 6-pin MicroPak(TM) packaging and measuring only 1 x 1.45 mm, units take up minimal board space, making them ideal for space-constrained designs.

Over-Voltage Protection Device includes USB/charger detection.

Fairchild Semiconductor    San Jose, CA 95134
Mar 08, 2010 Designed to protect Li-ion batteries from failures of charging circuit, Model FAN3988 allows end user to select external P-channel MOSFET with specific on-resistance and current capability required by application. Front-end IC has built-in automatic detection, allowing it to sense presence of USB charger by continuously monitoring D+/D- lines for shorted condition. When over-voltage threshold condition is reached, device will immediately disable external P-Channel MOSFET.

Optocouplers isolate signals in harsh environments.

Fairchild Semiconductor    San Jose, CA 95134
Feb 22, 2010 Model FODM8061 with open collector output and FODM8071 with logic gate output offer common mode noise immunity of 20 kV/µs minimum. Operating in temperatures of -40 to +110ºC, they provide supply voltage range of 3.3-5 V, facilitating logic-level translation. Units are housed in compact 5-pin SO package with Optoplanar® technology, which ensures insulation thickness of over 0.4 mm to attain UL1577 and IEC60747-5-2 certified, high-voltage isolation.

Power Switch simplifies design of offline power supplies.

Fairchild Semiconductor    San Jose, CA 95134
Feb 05, 2010 Model FSGM0565R FPS(TM) power switch features SenseFET 650 V startup circuit that includes drain-current sensing and shortens overcurrent time delay to less than 200 nsec. Suitable for off-line power supplies up to 60 W, switch achieves standby power consumption in 66 kHz flyback converter of 120 mW at 265 Vac in 25 mW of load. Product features multiple protection features, all with auto-restart, and offers supply-voltage range of 12-24 Vdc, 15 msec soft-start, and lightning surge immunity.

Load Switches provide protection and power conditioning.

Fairchild Semiconductor    San Jose, CA 95134
Jan 28, 2010 Supplied in 1 x 1-4 mm WL-CSP, IntelliMAX(TM) FPF110x series integrates analog switch control functionality and offers 35 mW RON typ. It allows direct load switch interconnection into most MPUs for software-transparent operations. Based on power CMOS silicon, series eliminates need for additional input capacitors and offers protection through integrated slew rate control. Slew rate options of 65 and 130 µsec meet system demands while promoting stability over 1.2-4 V operating range.
