Sep 15, 2004 Able to use conventional or superabrasive wheels, all-electric Viking SuperSeries II incorporates Landis 6400 CNC PC-based, open-architecture control system in addition to digital servo controls and SERCOS interface. Sealing arrangement for anti-friction spindles prevents ingress of contaminants. Machine accommodates parts from 0.05–2.4 in. in diameter and has 20 hp grinding wheel drive. Unit also features 16 in. dia grinding wheel and nodular cast iron base.

Feb 26, 2003 Power-Rotating Fixture allows simultaneous grinding of both sides of parts. It is used with company's vertical double-disc grinders to produce lap-type tolerances in grinding parts with flat and parallel surfaces. Part rotation is fully programmable using servo-controlled fixture, so amount of rotation can be varied during grind. Because it is independent of carrier drive system, fixture can be installed and removed with little downtime for changeover.

Landis Gardner, A UNOVA Co.    Waynesboro, PA 17268
Feb 20, 2003 Production grinder incorporates kiss grinding of crankshaft thrust wall and internal grinding of pilot bore. Separate external and internal grinding spindles are fitted with cubic boring nitride wheels. Machine centers and supports crankshaft on main journal centerline to hold thrust wall perpendicularity and pilot bore concentricity to main bearings within 0.010 and 0.020 mm, respectively. Offerings include motorized wheel spindles and constrained hydrostatic ways.
