High-Heat PPA Resin deliver long-term thermal stability.

Solvay Advanced Polymers, L.L.C.    Alpharette, GA 30005-3914
Nov 14, 2012 High-heat (HH) grades of Amodel® polyphthalamide (PPA) resin include 33% glass reinforced A-4133HH and 45% glass reinforced A-4145HH. Testing shows 75% retention of tensile strength after heat aging for 3,000 hr at 446°F and after 1,000 hr at 482°F. Formulated to meet operating temperature and lifetime service demands of downsized turbocharged engines and under-the-hood applications, chemical-resistant resins also maintain mechanical properties when thermally aged at 320°F and 374°F.

Polyester Compound targets LED TV applications.

Solvay Advanced Polymers, L.L.C.    Alpharette, GA 30005-3914
Oct 04, 2012 Developed specifically for LED electronic packaging applications that utilize surface mount technology, Lavanta® 5115 WH 011 consists of 15% glass fiber-reinforced injection molding compound. Material provides greater than 95% reflectivity with optimized whiteness retention, even after thermal and light aging. Able to fill very thin-walled sections required for low-profile, side-view LEDs, compound offers dimensional stability due to low moisture absorption.

Radio-Visible PEEK Compound enhances implantable medical devices.

Solvay Advanced Polymers, L.L.C.    Alpharette, GA 30005-3914
Jun 11, 2012 Intended for use in implantable medical devices, Zeniva® ZA-520 radio-visible polyetheretherketone (PEEK)-based material provides image contrasting capabilities via specific additive for optimal visualization with x-ray, CT, and MRI systems. Compound is available in resin and rod stock and provides visibility of implant without artifacts common to metallic-based materials. Benefits include biocompatibility, chemical inertness, and modulus of elasticity close to that of bone.

PPA Resins protect automotive electronics from corrosion.

Solvay Advanced Polymers, L.L.C.    Alpharette, GA 30005-3914
Sep 26, 2011 Amodel Electronic (AE) grades of Amodel® polyphthalamide (PPA) resins eliminate corrosion issues stemming from high-temperature and high-humidity conditions of automotive electronics applications. Water-moldable AE-4133 consists of high-flow, fast-cycling injection moldable material available in black/natural and delivers heat distortion temperature of 572°F. Offering high retention of dielectric properties, AE-8133 is available in black and processed on oil-heated injection molds.

Polyarylamide Plastic suits automotive fuel systems.

Solvay Advanced Polymers, L.L.C.    Alpharette, GA 30005-3914
Mar 14, 2007 Offering low-permeation barrier material for host of fuel system applications, Ixef® Polyarylamide Plastic can be used in 2-layer system to meet standards of EPA's Partial Zero Emission Vehicle and California Air Resource Board automotive and small off-road engine emission regulations. Resin also maintains mechanical properties in bio-diesel and ethanol-based fuels.

Amorphous Polymers suit automotive lighting applications.

Solvay Advanced Polymers, L.L.C.    Alpharette, GA 30005-3914
May 04, 2006 Formulated to optimize surface quality, thermal resistance, impact, and flow, RADEL® LTG-3000 polyethersulfone (PES) withstands temperatures to 205°C and exhibits tensile strength of 12.0 kpsi, while UDEL® LTG-2000 polysulfone (PSU) withstands temperatures to 175°C and has tensile strength of 10.2 kpsi. Capable of direct metallization, polymers are targeted for use in manufacture of headlamp bezels and reflectors, fog lamp reflectors, and park-and-turn reflectors.

Transparent Sulfone Polymer offers high heat resistance.

Solvay Advanced Polymers, L.L.C.    Alpharette, GA 30005-3914
Oct 29, 2004 Amorphous thermoplastic SUPRADELâ„¢ HTS features glass transition temperature of 509°F and heat deflection temperature of 491°F. It is resistant to hydrolysis by hot water and steam, as well as to acids, bases, and flame. In addition to being processed by injection molding, extrusion, and thermoforming, material can also be melt processed. It is suited for automotive, aerospace, electrical, electronic, and industrial product applications.

Fluoropolymer forms durable water-purification membranes.

Solvay Advanced Polymers, L.L.C.    Alpharette, GA 30005-3914
Jun 06, 2003 HALAR® ECTFE offers heat and chemical resistance and is stable at high pH levels. Membranes made with copolymer of ethylene and chlorotrifluoroethylene are not affected by direct exposure to strong bases, mineral and oxidizing acids, or chlorinated compounds. Product is also resistant to aggressive cleaning agents and strong polar solvents such as dimethylformamide, dimethylacetamide, and N-methyl pyrrolidone.

Polyphthalamide Material improves kitchen utensils.

Solvay Advanced Polymers, L.L.C.    Alpharette, GA 30005-3914
May 21, 2003 AMODEL® A-1133 HS polyphthalamide combined with Bryant Rubber's Select Primerless Adhesion Polymer Systemâ„¢ turns ordinary kitchen spatula into long lasting utensil that is less likely to melt. It reduces amount of heat transferred through spatula to cook's hand and doesn't begin melting until temperature exceeds 550°F. Soft silicone is non-marking and does not wear delicate pan surfaces.

Polysulphone Resin offers high clarity and heat resistance.

Solvay Advanced Polymers, L.L.C.    Alpharette, GA 30005-3914
Mar 03, 2003 UDEL® P-3700 HC offers near-water-white clarity for designs that require high clarity, low color, or range of bright colors. UDEL polysulfone maintains its properties at temperatures from -150 to 300°F and is resistant to hydrolysis by hot water, to acids and bases, and to cleaners and disinfectants. Resin complies with U.S. FDA and European Economic Community regulations concerning use of plastics in direct food contact.
