Rad-Hard PM Fiber performs for extended durations.

OFS, Specialty Photonics Division    Avon, CT 06001
Feb 05, 2014 GyroSil® Rad-Hard PM Optical Fiber has 80 μm OD cladding and is bend-insensitive, enabling long lengths to be wound on small diameter coils. Manufactured without germanium, pure silica core fiber enables fiber optic gyroscopes to perform at higher radiation level for extended durations. Birefringent fiber has center wavelength of 1,550 nm and outer coating diameter of 145 μm. Suitable gyroscope applications include space, high altitude, and defense related navigation systems.

Industrial Cabling features crimp and cleave connectors.

OFS, Specialty Photonics Division    Avon, CT 06001
Nov 27, 2013 Featuring Low Smoke Zero Halogen cable construction, Graded Index HCS® Optical Fiber Cabling with SC Crimp and Cleave connectors operates from -20 to +105°C while offering resistance to abrasion, vibration, and industrial chemicals. Cable systems support fast (100 Mbps) and Gigabit Ethernet (1,000 Mbps) data rates and are compatible with most common GBIC transceivers. Suited for indoor and outdoor use, cabling requires no power, epoxy, gel, or polishing for termination process.

Optical Fiber Cables deliver tactical durability.

OFS, Specialty Photonics Division    Avon, CT 06001
Aug 06, 2013 At 0.8 mm dia, Micro-Links (µlinx™) cables deliver tactical durability for use in manned/unmanned vehicles. Aircraft-specific µlinx Avionics cables weigh 0.7 g/m and feature braided aramid yarn and -65 to 150°C performance range. ETFE cable jacket resists abrasion and chemicals. With Hytrel® jacket over underlying aramid yarn, µlinx Tether cables suit ground vehicles. Both designs are available with bend-resistant single-mode, 50 µm multimode, or 62.5 µm multimode graded index optical fiber.

Hollow-Core Optical Fiber suits high precision gyroscopes.

OFS, Specialty Photonics Division    Avon, CT 06001
Jul 31, 2013 Employing air-filled core surrounded by glass webbing, Hollow-Core Fiber allows light to propagate through free space rather than solid glass core. Radiation hardened fiber can be bent and coiled to tight bend radius while guiding light. Single-spatial-mode forces light to take only single path, enabling high bandwidth and low noise. Orientation of light waves is fixed in fiber, which is necessary for applications such as sensing, interferometry, and secure communications.

Fiber Laser Cavities support applications up to 1 kW.

OFS, Specialty Photonics Division    Avon, CT 06001
May 01, 2013 Rated at 500 W, TrueMode-15™ supports up to 36 pump laser diode inputs, within typical 0.15 NA. TrueMode-22™, targeted for 1 kW applications and beyond, supports up to 18 pump laser diode inputs, within typical 0.22 NA. Both single-laser cavities are compatible with OFS' TrueM2™ Beam Combiners, which can combine multiple laser cavities.

Fiber Optic Cables are suited for commercial aircraft systems.

OFS, Specialty Photonics Division    Avon, CT 06001
Feb 11, 2013 FlightLink™ 50 µm OM3 can support 100 Gbit Ethernet up to 100 m. For applications that require single mode performance, FlightLink Bend Optimized Single Mode offers enhanced bend performance combined with standard-sized mode field. Incorporating OFS fibers, buffer, braided strength members, and outer jacket, all avionics cables are qualified to 200°C and designed with identical tight buffer construction that eliminates kinking.

Coherent Mixer integrates multiplexer/demultiplexer.

OFS, Specialty Photonics Division    Avon, CT 06001
Mar 11, 2011 Coherent Mixer, a key component required at signal receiver in optical digital coherent scheme, is integrated with polarization multiplexer/demultiplexer, resulting in compact device that eliminates characteristics degradation at connected part. Designed for ultra-high bit rate 100 Gbps digital coherent transmission, device features loss uniformity of 1 dB or better, low skew of 1 psec or better, and polarization extinction ratio of 18 dB or higher.

Raman Amplifiers include automatic gain control.

OFS, Specialty Photonics Division    Avon, CT 06001
Mar 11, 2011 In combination with erbium-doped fiber amplifiers, HPU42000 Series Amplifiers optimize optical signal-to-noise ratio and compensate for optical loss resulting from optical transmission lines and optical components. With built-in AGC function, output power per channel at each amplifier is kept constant by controlling gain automatically, optimizing integration in transmission systems.

C-Band Tunable Laser meets 100 Gbps transmission demands.

OFS, Specialty Photonics Division    Avon, CT 06001
Mar 10, 2011 Full-band tunable laser delivers optical output of higher than 40 mW with linewidth of lower than 500 kHz. With tunable wavelength range of 1,528-1,564 nm (C band), laser offers performance suited for use as signal light source and/or local light source for digital coherent communication systems. Side-mode suppression ratio is greater than 40 dB, average relative intensity noise is less than -145 dB/Hz, and wavelength stability is less than ±2.5 GHz.

Polarimeter Device meets Telcordia GR-468 qualification.

OFS, Specialty Photonics Division    Avon, CT 06001
Mar 10, 2011 Suited for telecommunications, sensors, and test and measurement applications in fiber optics industry, Model IPLM measures full polarization state, or Stokes vector. Hermetically packaged, in-line polarimeter provides less than 0.8 dB insertion loss and less than 0.15 dB polarization dependent loss, facilitating integration of polarimetric devices in both new and existing applications.
