Texas Instruments, Inc., Semiconductors    Dallas, TX 75243
Jun 17, 2014 Supporting G3, PRIME, and IEEE-1901.2 standards across both CENELEC and ARIB frequency bands, TMDSPLCKITV4 power line communication (PLC) modem kits provide developers with design to evaluate any narrowband OFDM PLC technology standard for use in various industrial systems. Complete PLC solution includes all hardware, firmware, and development tools needed to get started. It can be used to create single PLC project with support for different regions and will also work with PLC-Lite™ software.

Low-Power DSP delivers up to 200 MHz performance.

Texas Instruments, Inc., Semiconductors    Dallas, TX 75243
May 29, 2014 Offering combination of low stand-by and low active power, Model TMS320C5517 is suited for battery-powered, portable systems requiring analytics, such as smart products offering face detection, object tracking, and voice recognition. McSPI operates in master or slave modes and enables low-power analytics through connectivity to external sensors. Allowing customers to connect to standard codecs, McBSP serial port supports continuous full-duplex communication and up to 128 channels in TDM mode.
Multi-Cell Battery Monitors optimize battery pack safety.

Multi-Cell Battery Monitors optimize battery pack safety.

Texas Instruments, Inc., Semiconductors    Dallas, TX 75243
May 29, 2014 Incorporating cell-balancing drivers, regulated output supplies, and other features to provide protection against overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent conditions, Model bq76920 supports 3- to 5-series cells or 18 V packs, while Model bq76930 manages up to 10-series cells or 36 V packs, and Model bq76940 monitors up to 15 cells or 48 V batteries. Circuits measure cell voltages, temperature, and pack current to determine remaining battery capacity and battery state-of-health.
Precison DACs reduce board space and increase accuracy.

Precison DACs reduce board space and increase accuracy.

Texas Instruments, Inc., Semiconductors    Dallas, TX 75243
May 15, 2014 Offering max total unadjusted error of 0.1%, DAC8760 series enables engineers to increase accuracy and performance of PLC I/O modules, field sensors and transmitters, and building automation systems while decreasing overall system size. Simultaneous voltage and current outputs afford system designers flexibility to use either one or both outputs. Each device includes voltage output, 4–20 mA output, precision reference, and LDO along with watchdog timer and cyclic redundancy check.
ULP Microcontrollers are available in compact packages.

ULP Microcontrollers are available in compact packages.

Texas Instruments, Inc., Semiconductors    Dallas, TX 75243
Apr 15, 2014 Helping developers conserve board space, MSP430™ ultra-low power (ULP) MCUs include FRAM-based MSP430FR5738 and Flash-based MSP430F51x2 in WLCSPs as small as 2.0 x 2.2 x 0.3 mm. I/O (1.8 V) on MSP430F5229 MCUs enables applications with sensor fusion capabilities, while libraries and support facilitate USB development on MSP430F5528 MCUs in CE applications. Range of 1.8 and 5 V tolerant I/O on MSP430F51x2 MCUs fosters diverse component interface capabilities.

Power MOSFET serve high-current motor control and power designs.

Texas Instruments, Inc., Semiconductors    Dallas, TX 75243
Mar 31, 2014 Supporting 40–100 V input, NexFETs™ include 14 power MOSFETs in TO-220 and lead (Pb)-free 5 x 6 mm SON packages. These 40, 60, 80, and 100 V N-channel devices, suited for high-current motor control and power applications, come in plastic packages with avalanche capability to support high-stress motor control applications. While CSD19506 supports 2.0 mΩ of Rds(on) at up to 80 V input, CSD19536 achieves 2.3 mΩ of Rds(on) at 100 V input.

Logic Gate Device integrates up/down translation functionality.

Texas Instruments, Inc., Semiconductors    Dallas, TX 75243
Feb 28, 2014 Available in standard 5-pin SOT-23 and SC70 packages, SN74LV1T series operates from single 1.8–5 V supply over -40 to +125°C range and is available in 9 logic gates: NAND and AND, NOR, OR and XOR, as well as several different buffer functions. Series can also be utilized in industrial and telecommunications applications as logic gate, translator, or both. Integration of up and down level shifter with logic gate driver minimizes board space requirements.

Discrete Serial Link Aggregator ICs support data rates to 10 Gbps.

Texas Instruments, Inc., Semiconductors    Dallas, TX 75243
Jan 22, 2014 Using 2 power rails, 1- to 8-channel TLK10081 and 2-channel TLK10022 aggregate and de-aggregate point-to-point serial data streams for transmission over backplanes, copper cables, and optical links. Features include intelligent serial link switching and built-in digital equalization. While TLK10022 supports 4:1, 3:1, and 2:1 bidirectional serial link configurations, TLK10081 manages 8:1 bidirectional links. Both ICs help reduce required number of gigabit serial links in equipment.

Analog DC/DC Controller features inductor current sensing.

Texas Instruments, Inc., Semiconductors    Dallas, TX 75243
Oct 28, 2013 Supplied in 4 x 4 x 0.8 mm package, LM27403 is 20 V DC/DC synchronous buck controller that delivers >95% efficiency from 12 V input at 25 A of output current. Step-down controller features remote bipolar junction transistor (BJT), temperature-compensated inductor DC resistance sensing that improves current limit accuracy to 10% over temperature. Accommodating 3–20 V input range, product can convert 3.3, 5, and 12 V input rails to point-of-load (POL) as low as 0.6 V with 1% accuracy.

System Timers cut standby power consumption.

Texas Instruments, Inc., Semiconductors    Dallas, TX 75243
Aug 26, 2013 Drawing only 30 nA of current, Model TPL5000 with watchdog timer and Model TPL5100 with MOS driver replace microcontroller's internal timer, allowing MCU to remain in low-power sleep mode. TPL5000's selectable timing delay can be set from 1–64 sec to further extend battery life in applications such as smoke detectors. It can also be programmed for 16- to 1,024-sec intervals in energy harvesters, wireless sensor nodes, and data loggers, where measurement data changes slowly.
