Inspection Grade 3D Scanning System is accurate to within 25 microns.

Inspection Grade 3D Scanning System is accurate to within 25 microns.

Laser Design, Inc. (LDI)    Minneapolis, MN 55431
Apr 17, 2012 SURVEYOR Auto Gage 3D scanning system provides 3D inspection-grade system with accuracy to 25 microns. It uses structured light projection technology from one scanner head to capture viewable surfaces of small- to medium-sized objects. With work envelope of 6 x 6 x 4 in. or 10 x 10 x 5 in., system is designed for inspection and reverse engineering applications and factory-floor verification uses. Built-in PC provides control for scanning and optional data processing.

May 28, 2009 Along with laser line length of 50 mm and accuracy of up to 20 µ, Surveyor Laser Probe model SLP-500 features dual CMOS receptors that capture up to 75,000 points/sec. It gathers data with high density, offering resolution to 750 points along laser line, and is primarily used for mid- to large-sized objects such as molds, stampings, and sheet metal. Electronics and optics architecture lend to delivery of virtually noise-free scan data.
Plug-In enables direct scanning to software.

Nov 26, 2008 Available for Faro portable 3D laser scanners, Rapidform liveScan(TM) Plug-In allows user to scan directly into Rapidform software package, providing graphical feedback of scanning process as data is collected. Users can see point cloud being captured from part in real-time. Screen updates to user's viewing angle as arm is moved around part, allowing user to adjust scanning speed and approach, and showing areas where user needs to go back and gather more data.

3D Laser Scanners feature CMM touch probe technology.

Jul 24, 2008 Able to collect over 75,000 3D coordinates/sec, manually operated Surveyor WM-Series Systems are fitted with interchangeable laser probes so they can perform high-speed 3D laser scanning, accurate to 12 microns, then convert back to traditional CMM touch probe measuring. Fully functional CMMs include fine adjustment and pneumatic axis locks to each of 3 axes. Available in 4 work-envelope sizes, each machine has volumetric mechanical measuring accuracy of 3.5 + L/250.
Software automatically removes noise from 3D scans.

Feb 07, 2008 Used in scanning of parts with reflective surfaces, Laser Design Point Cloud Denoiser(TM) (3D) automates noise reduction process for 3D data obtained from any scanner using industry-standard file formats. It automatically removes noisy data after scan is complete, leaving actual surface data intact via proprietary denoising algorithms. Solution handles planar and arbitrarily curved surfaces with equal efficacy and reduces/eliminates need to spray surface treatments.

Mar 29, 2007 With laser line length of 25 mm, Model SLP-250 provides scanning accuracy of ±6 µ and is primarily used for small or highly detailed objects. Model SLP-2000, featuring laser line length of 200 mm, delivers accuracy of ±80 µ. Both probes have dual CMOS receptors that capture up to 75,000 points/sec, making them suited for high-speed, non-contact 3D scanning. Units integrate with 7-axis arms from Faro and Renishaw PH10 indexing system used on most CMMs.
Automated Extrusion Scanner monitors profiles in real-time.

Dec 26, 2006 Providing ±.1 mm accuracy, PM-300 Extrusion Profile Monitoring System checks multiple complex feature measurements at rate of 12 times/sec on inline extrusion production lines. Continuous monitoring occurs in real-time during manufacturing process, so every extruded portion is verified to be within spec. Corrections can be made immediately whenever ongoing measurements indicate problem.

Inspection Software includes file import converter.

Laser Design, Inc. (LDI)    Minneapolis`, MN 55431
Dec 19, 2006 Providing link between CAD and CAM, Geomagic Qualify 8 delivers in-depth analysis and integrates with 3D laser scanning systems to provide complete inspection solution. File import converter allows R16 CAD geometry from Catia v4 and Catia v5 to be directly imported into Geomagic Qualify 8SR1. Software automatically generates web-ready reports and performs automated statistical process control on multiple samples to show deviation trends in manufacturing process.

Laser Design, Inc. (LDI)    Minneapolis`, MN 55431
Nov 28, 2006 Equipped with dual CMOS receptors, Model SLP-2000 captures 50,000-75,000 points/sec, making it suited for high-speed, non-contact 3D scanning of medium and large objects. Dual CMOS receptors with simultaneous scanning assist with steep sidewall and recessed geometry capture. Probe can be used interchangeably with portable Faro CMMs, traditional CMMs, and Laser Design's Surveyor DS, CS, DT, and TS Series 3D laser scanning systems.

Arm-Mounted Laser Probe minimizes scanning time.

Laser Design    Minneapolis`, MN 55431
Sep 15, 2005 Designed for use with portable CMM articulating arms, SLP-330 scans parts up to 12 ft long without moving base of arm or any size if arm is moved. It employs 2 detectors that view laser line from as many different angles, reducing number of scanning passes required to capture steep sidewalls and deep geometries. Able to capture up to 50,000 points/sec, product can also interface with Surveyor 3D scanning systems and Renishaw PH10 indexing system.
