Spinning Clinch Bolts enable captivated screw to spin freely.

PennEngineering® (Penn Engineering)    Danboro, PA 18916
Jun 03, 2013 Available in thread sizes from No. 4–40 through No. 6–32 and M3–M4, PEM® spinning clinch bolts install into aluminum or steel sheets as thin as .040 in. One-piece captive screw solutions provide controlled clinching action during installation that permanently captivates screw while letting it spin freely. Products include Type SCB™ fasteners with unthreaded neck for axial float, Type SCBJ™ hardware integrating jacking feature, and Type SCBR™ versions with self-retracting feature.

May 13, 2013 PEMSERT® self-clinching flush nuts are designed for attachment applications where thin metal sheets can benefit from introduction of strong load-bearing threads without protrusions being created on either side. Upon permanent installation in aluminum or steel sheets as thin as .060 in., top and bottom of sheet remain flush. Metal displaced by hexagonal head flows evenly and smoothly around back-tapered shank of fastener to securely lock nut permanently into place.
Self-Clinching Flush-Head Studs meet corrosion resistance needs.

Self-Clinching Flush-Head Studs meet corrosion resistance needs.

PennEngineering® (Penn Engineering)    Danboro, PA 18916
Apr 26, 2013 For attachment applications requiring corrosion resistance, PEM® Type FHP™ self-clinching flush-head studs are manufactured from A286 stainless steel and install permanently into stainless steel sheets as thin as .040 in. Products mount flush and permanently, becoming integral parts of assembly with only mating nut required for final component attachment. Studs can be supplied in thread sizes No. 4–40 through No. 10–32 and M3–M5 and in range of 10 standard lengths.
Heat Sink Mounting System ensures optimum heat dissipation.

Apr 04, 2013 Comprising Type HSCB™ captivating screw and Type HSL™ spring mated to Type HSR™ broaching receptacle nut or standoff, PEM® Heat Sink Mounting System securely attaches heat sinks to circuit boards while providing firm and constant contact to chip component. System integrates audible click feature to prevent over tightening during installation, accommodates slight expansion and contraction of joint components without damaging circuitry, and allows for removal of heat sink if necessary.

Feb 06, 2013 PEM® SpotFast® self-clinching fasteners can be used to attach 2 metal sheets too thin to weld, fasten sheets of unequal thicknesses, join dissimilar metals, attach ultra-thin metal sections, or join metal sheets to PCB or plastic panels. Sheets are permanently joined in flush-attachment connection without protrusions on either side, and rotational capability allows fastener to act as hardened pivot point. Design allows installation in aluminum or steel sheets as thin as .030 in.

Jan 16, 2013 Operating on 90 psi air, ATLAS® RIV 990 promotes installation of full or half-hex bodied blind threaded inserts. Tool accommodates interchangeable noses to correspond with hole-size requirements. Upon proper hole conversion, variety of metric blind threaded inserts can be installed permanently in aluminum, steel, or stainless steel panels of any hardness and as thin as .020 in. Inserts can be specified in thread sizes from #8-32 to 5/16-18 and M4–M8, and in flat, thin, or countersunk head styles.

Nov 20, 2012 Delivering insertion force from 400 lb to 6 tons, PEMSERTER® Series 4® features 18 in. throat depth, providing clearance for variety of chassis configurations. Pneumatically powered press installs self-clinching nuts, studs, and standoffs in sizes M2.5 to M6 / #2-56 to ¼ in. System features onboard PLC, touchscreen, and vibratory feeder bowl for automatic fastener feeding as well as laser pointer, stroke counter, and lockable cabinet for storage of tools and accessories.

May 04, 2012 Featuring hex-shaped barrel, ReelFast® microPEM(TM) Type SMTSO(TM) Fasteners install permanently on PCBs in same manner and at same time as other surface mount components prior to automated reflow solder process. Fasteners come in thread sizes as small as No. 0-80 with lengths as short as 0.62 in., and all can be installed in boards as thin as .020 in. Packaged on 13 in. recyclable reels, fasteners can serve as nuts or standoffs to space or stack PCBs, mount boards, or attach components.

Mar 02, 2012 Integrating modified punch and anvil, PEMSERTER® Tooling can install PEM® Type S self-clinching nuts permanently in thin aluminum sheets without need to pre-punch mounting hole in separate operation. Raised ring on anvil allows fastener to pierce its own mounting hole and then assists in final clinching process. PEM Type S nuts with thread sizes ¼-20, 5/16-18, M6, and M8 and with -2 shank length can be installed in aluminum sheets from 0.059-0.79 in. thick and no harder than HB 79.7.

Feb 21, 2012 Where disassembly is not required, microPEM(TM) TackPin(TM) (Type T(TM)) fasteners replace screw installation in compact electronic assemblies. Use eliminates screw-related issues such as tapping, cross-threading, torque control, and vibration backout while facilitating and accelerating installation. During insertion, tapered tip assists in location, interference fit eliminates hole-tolerance issues, and self-clinching action results in full 360º metal contact.
