Zoeller Company's Center For Excellence Focuses on Education

Zoeller Grows Again

On March 31, Zoeller Company broke ground on a $4 million expansion of its Louisville, Kentucky facility where it manufactures sump pumps, sewage pumps and other equipment. The addition will house a training center, a hands-on lab, and a facility for research and development. The building will be named The Center for Excellence, underscoring the company philosophy of providing the best quality in its products and service to its customers.

John E. Enyard, former engineering supervisor, was recently named as the center’s director. According to Enyard, the center is needed to assist in training employees in the unique and varied aspects of pump manufacture. Zoeller Company and its customer base is growing at an increasing pace, demanding additional personnel and state of the art training facilities.

Zoeller has been active with training for many years, but having the new space will allow training to be greatly enhanced. Current and new workers will be able to have hands-on learning opportunities as there will be room to set up demos of such processes as assembly lines, quality and electrical testing. The company plans to begin using the center by Fall 2015, training employees, reps, plumbing contractors and engineers. The space will also be used for other professional and community opportunities.

In addition to the 6,000 square foot, state-of-the-art training space, the research and development department will occupy about 5,000 square feet. John Zoeller CEO, states, “We have always known the time for this would come and we are excited that the Board of Directors have allowed us this opportunity”. Since we began our training and our engineered products division, the need has grown year after year.

Zoeller, which started out as a basement business in 1939, has gone through several expansions at its Louisville location. The corporation also has locations in Indiana, Texas, Wisconsin, Canada, Taiwan and China. It has 350 employees in Louisville and about 730 across the corporation. Best known in the USA for the quality of products, Zoeller Company also sells products in more than 50 countries.
