2010 World Clean Air Congress to Examine Air Quality Challenges World Wide



Event Brings Industry, Consulting, Academia, Advocacy Groups & Government
Together in Environmental Discussion

Pittsburgh, PA - The International Union of Air Pollution Prevention and Environmental Protection Associations' (IUAPPA), in partnership with the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA), will gather experts from all walks of the environmental community for the 2010 World Clean Air Congress, Sept. 12-16 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

"The World Clean Air Congress, held only every three years, is a rare environmental gathering in that it calls environmental and scientific professionals, as well as advocacy groups and representatives of concerned governments to explore difficult issues together," said Mike Kelly, A&WMA Executive Director. "It provides an open and balanced forum for high-level discussion and perspective sharing."

The 2010 technical program will address the theme, "Achieving Environmental Sustainability in a Resource Hungry World," as related to four focus areas: science, policy, industry, and sustainability. The Congress will also feature presentations from distinguished speakers, including Mike Harcourt, Former Premier of British Columbia, Mayor of Vancouver, and City Councilor; Martin Williams, Chairman of the Executive Body of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe's Convention on Long Range Transboundary Air Pollution; Edith Ardiente, Vice President, Environmental and Energy Affairs of Navistar, Inc.; and Miriam Lev-on, Executive Director and co-founder of the LEVON Group, LLC.
