Whitford Names Luke Engineering and Manufacturing a "Whitford Recommended Coater"

February 2012, Wadsworth, OH. Whitford, makers of the world's largest, most complete line of fluoropolymer coatings, has launched a Recommended Coater program to identify those applicators who have met criteria set by Whitford. Among these are knowledge of Whitford coatings and experience in applying them, having a strict quality-control program in place, and attendance at one of Whitford's customer training sessions. Recently named as a recommended coater is Luke Engineering and Manufacturing Co.

Luke Engineering specializes in anodizing and conversion coatings for the light metals of aluminum and magnesium. They designed and built their first finishing line in 1964, which included tanks for hard anodizing, a spray booth and oven to apply solid-film lubricants. Over time, Luke Engineering expanded and in the 1980s designed and installed an automatic chromate conversion line. More recently, a second plant has been opened with computerized process controls, water recycling and hazardous-waste-minimizing technology. Luke's current capabilities include five anodizing lines with twelve process tanks in two plants for maximum dependability and minimum lead times.

Says Chris Jurey, President of Luke Engineering, "We would like to thank Whitford for this recognition. We look forward to continuing our work with them."
