Weiler Corporation Donates to Training for Returning Vets

Weiler Corporation has found a way to help our returning veterans by donating wire brushes, grinding wheels, hand brushes and tools for a veterans training program run by the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry (UA).

UA has partnered with the US Military to create the Veterans in Piping (VIP) Program, which provides returning vets with 16 weeks of accelerated welding training. This training is free and is offered to 16 veterans in each course.

Welders are in high demand nationwide, making job opportunities plentiful for welders who are well-trained and highly-skilled after their intensive training program.

On January 19, Weiler representatives had the opportunity to attend one of the training classes at Camp Pendleton, CA. Hilda Solis, U S Secretary of Labor, also attended the open house and met with veterans attending the current program.

Participating in this program is Weiler's way of saying "Thank You" to our veterans for serving our country with bravery and honor. A second training school is under development for 2011 at Camp Lejeune, NC, and Weiler plans to support this school as well.
