March 2 Expert Panel Discussion with ANSI’s Network on Smart and Sustainable Cities
On March 2, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) will host a free informational webinar from 2-3:00 pm EST on the role of certified professionals in urban infrastructure planning and sustainable development. Vijay Krishna, Ed.D., director of ANSI’s personnel credentialing accreditation programs, will moderate a panel discussion of subject matter experts including representatives from several ANSI-accredited certification bodies. ANSI’s accreditation program for personnel certification bodies based on the International Standard ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 provides an independent validation that a credentialing program adheres to this globally recognized standard and provides an assurance of quality to industry, employers, and the general public. The webinar will include remarks by each panelist on the scope of their credentialing programs and the value that credentialing provides to their organization and industry.

Vijay Krishna, Ed.D., director of personnel credentialing accreditation programs, ANSI, who is responsible for managing ANSI accreditation of personnel certification bodies under ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 and the associated Conference for Food Protection Manager program, as well as the accreditation of training certificates under ASTM 2659.
Richard Lawrence, executive director of the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) which administers personnel certifications for renewable energy professionals in North America.
Doug Gatlin, senior vice president, global service delivery, Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), who is responsible for strategic execution of critical programs including Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) and other GBCI certifications, test development and delivery, and enterprise-wide support resources.
Priya Edjlali, project manager, small commercial buildings, U.S. Department of Energy’s Building Technologies Office, who works on developing a skilled clean energy workforce and on demonstration and national scaleup of business and technology solutions that can effectively help small and medium commercial buildings improve their energy efficiency.
Eric Woodroof, Ph.D., chairman of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) Carbon & Greenhouse Gas Reduction Manager (CRM) program certification board, who served as a board member for AEE's Certified Energy Manager (CEM) program from 1999-2013.
