Press release date: September 21, 2007

Ettlingen, Germany (September 21, 2007) - As it celebrates 15 years of activity this autumn, vps ID Systeme looks back on its extraordinarily successful history. Founded in 1992, the company quickly developed into an established European developer and supplier of ID card personalization and management software solutions that enhance enterprise security. As of July 1, 2007, with the acquisition of vps ID Systeme by Digital Identification Solutions AG - the foundations for a stronger international expansion have been set.

In 1992, when Werner Vogt and Jürgen König founded vps Video Print Systeme GmbH, they had ambitious plans. Yet, they would never have imagined that 15 years later, under the name vps ID Systeme, their company would be one of the leading suppliers of professional IT solutions for identity management in Europe. Innovative ideas, profound knowledge of the security needs of enterprises and institutions, strong focus on the core business as well as the trust placed in the company by a constantly growing number of partners and customers are the basis of this successful development. Today, vps employs over 30 workers at the company's facilities in Ettlingen, Germany.

vps began its successful journey bringing to market software systems for the production and personalization of conventional security badges. The company accompanied the evolution of ID cards over the years - up until today's updateable and multi-functional identification and authorization credentials which are issued and revoked from any place in the world - with its innovative software solutions. In 2004, vps commanded the attention of the security industry with the introduction of IDExpert CMS, its platform-independent and completely web-based high-end ID card management system. IDExpert CMS interfaces with a great variety of systems and serves as the central hub for all card-related applications. The system is accessed via a web browser - and is location-independent for the operator. Digital signature and PKI functions as well as integrated biometric identification extend the range of application of IDExpert CMS. The solution thus also meets today's heightened safety requirements. IDExpert CMS is used today by numerous national and international enterprises and organizations. The German energy giant RWE and the Port of Felixstowe in Great Britain have put their trust in vps' software solution, as has Humboldt University in Berlin, just to name a few.

In addition to the company's flagship product, IDExpert CMS, vps' product range includes IDExpert EasyCard, a web-based ID card personalization system; IDExpert for SAP, which integrates ID card production into the Enterprise Resource Planning software mySAP; as well as the software development kit IDExpert SDK for software houses and system integrators. Thus, vps caters for all market requirements with solutions ranging from compact systems for small quantities of photo IDs to enterprise-level solutions for large numbers of chip-based multi-functional cards. Applications range from access control and electronic ticketing, to ePassports, national IDs, and health cards. Based in Ettlingen, Germany, vps serves its worldwide client-base through its partner network. More information is available online at www.vps.de.
