Vordel Names Christian Barrios as Chairman and Jacques Declas as VP Global Sales


XML network infrastructure firm expands senior management team with appointment of two key industry executives

Dublin, Ireland and Boston, Mass. - October 4, 2007 Vordel, the enterprise XML network infrastructure company today announced that Christian Barrios and Jacques Declas have been named as Chairman and VP Global Sales respectively at Vordel. They both have long and distinguished careers in the industry having previously worked at firms such as Software AG, Forum Systems, Informix and Apple. They will work closely with the company's Board of Directors and Executive team to expand the company's global sales and business development operations.

About Christian Barrios

Prior to joining Vordel, Christian Barrios was a Member of the Executive Board of Directors of Software AG. He oversaw the company's growth in Iberia, Latin America and the Middle East. He also served as CEO and President of the Board of Informix Software Iberia, before its acquisition by IBM.

He held positions as President and Managing Director of Ascential Software Iberia and President of Toshiba Spain. Previously, he was Managing Director of Apple Computer Spain and Portugal, and Managing Director of Nextel Engineering Systems Iberia. Christian also held roles with Gould Electronics, Amdahl Fujitsu Group, and Apple Computer Corporation. In addition to his role as Executive Chairman with Vordel, Christian is Managing Partner of Hatton Investment Group and CEO of SOA consulting firm, Software Associates Corporation which has over 200 employees and offices in more than 10 countries. Christian holds Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Santiago, and Industrial Engineering from the Florida International University. He also holds an Executive MBA from the University of Columbia.

About Jacques Declas

Jacques brings over 13 years of sales experience in building direct and indirect distribution channels throughout Europe for technology companies, with a particularly strong focus on the field of SOA. He joins Vordel from Forum Systems where he was VP sales EMEA with responsibility for direct sales and distribution channel management in Europe. Prior to Forum he was VP EMEA with Mainsoft, establishing their European sales operation from scratch. Before Mainsoft he established Parasoft's Northern European office and built sales and support operations over a three year time frame.
Jacques holds BA(Hons) degree in Business Management from St- Etienne
(France) and has a postgraduate diploma in European Financial Management from Leeds University (UK).
