Using a Data Logger to Brew Your Own Beer

Each beer style has a proper temperature range that you can't go beyond without risking its quality. It's common to use other measurement equipment while brewing, like hydrometer, and using a data logger also helps monitor other temperature-sensitive points in the brewing process such as cooling wort, the liquid resulting from the mashing process.
A data logger tracks the carboy's internal fermentation temperature for you, recording the whole process to give you effective quality control. Just place a thermocouple probe into the carboy and connect it to the logger, which you can just tape to the side or place nearby. Run the thermocouple's cable through the stopper and then seal the container as you normally would. Setup the datalogger and it will now continually monitor the beer's temperature for any temperature deviation away from the benchmark you set.

You can even graph, print and export the data to other applications. The data logger is supplied complete with a long-life lithium battery, which will last for approximately 6 months.
