USA SOLAR CABLE Supplies 5,000,000' of World's #1 PV Wire
4 Utility Scale Projects in Ontario Under Construction
Austin, TX - A record breaking quarter for the solar division of USA Wire & Cable was lead by supplying 4 large utility scale projects in Canada. Over 5,000,000 feet of USA Solar Cable was supplied to the 4 projects. The world's #1 PV Wire, constructed with an Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) insulation and Chlorinated Polyethylene(CPE) jacket in two layers, was used for module hook-ups and home run cables. USA SOLAR CABLE is UL 4703 Direct Burial rated at 1KV and 2KV; as well as, c(UL) rated RW90 for the Canadian market.
Additional cables ranging in size from 2AWG to 750MCM were utilized on the AC side of the project including 15KV ALUM TRXLPE/LLDPE, Triplexed COPPER USE-2, single conductor RWU90, ground wire and Multi Mode Fiber Optic cables.
USA Wire & Cable worked with owners, contractors, Electric Safety Authority and Ontario Power Authority to ensure that only cables with the appropriate ratings were supplied to meet Canadian requirements.
In addition to cables, USA Wire & Cable supplied 46,500 M/F pairs of connectors to the project including MC3 and Amphenol H4 connectors. USA Wire & Cable is the largest supplier of Amphenol H4 connectors in North America. The H4 connector recently received the highest ratings for efficiency in a test of 18 DIFFERENT UL approved connectors.
