Universal AET Receives Grant from State of Wisconsin

STOUGHTON, Wis. – Universal Acoustic Emission Technologies will receive a grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development's Fast Forward program to train supervisors at the company's facilities in Beloit, Muscoda and Stoughton, Wis., the state recently announced.
The Fast Forward program provides Wisconsin businesses with customized training grants to enhance the skills and credentials of unemployed, underemployed and incumbent workers. Universal AET proudly joins 25 other manufacturers in Wisconsin who were awarded grants in the last competitive round.
Together with Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, Universal AET has created a customized Quality and Supervisory Management training program to educate 55 supervisors. Designed specifically for Universal AET's Beloit, Muscoda and Stoughton locations, the training program been incorporated into Universal University, a corporate commitment toward employee growth in workforce development.
"With our global sales growth, we must ensure that our managers and supervisors have the training they need," said Universal AET Training Specialist Jennifer Willger, who submitted the grant application. "A strong management team is critical to a business on many levels – from recruiting and retaining quality employees to maintaining high morale and engagement, all of which result in increased productivity, product quality and safety. We're thankful to the State of Wisconsin and the Fast Forward program for supporting our efforts."
Employees in Beloit and Muscoda manufacture the company's emissions- and noise-reducing air inlet and exhaust solutions, including silencers, catalysts, blowers and filters. They also fabricate generator enclosures and fuel tanks. Stoughton is home to Universal AET's corporate headquarters.
About Wisconsin Fast Forward: Wisconsin Fast Forward, which Gov. Scott Walker started in 2013, intends to address the state's need for skilled workers. The program offers up to $15 million in training grants and makes other investments to prepare workers for the current job market as well as the future market.
