Unit Pack Enhanced by 3D Printing

Unit Pack, a leading innovator of single-dose liquid packaging, has enhanced its production capabilities by adopting 3D printing technologies at its state-of-the-art facility in Cedar Grove, New Jersey.

Since 1964, the Unit Pack name has been synonymous with innovative research and improvements in unit-of-use packaging. 3D printing will enhance Unit Pack's production flexibility and rapid change-over abilities, which have solidified its trusted partnerships for three generations.

"At first, 3D printing allowed us to mass produce critical replacement parts for our production lines, but since then these new technologies have transformed our packaging capabilities," said Ernest Loesser, President of Unit Pack. "3D printing has opened areas of design freedom that were not previously available. Subsequently, our abilities to realize our clients' unique packaging needs are stronger than ever. In addition to our established Unit Pack line, 3D printing has also facilitated new experiments with diverse films, thermo-form, and flexible foil packaging as well."

Unit Pack is a contract packager of liquids, creams, and semi-liquids for single dose and sample use. The Unit Pack pouch is manufactured with high-barrier films that provide excellent protection from oxygen, water, and other contaminants, which ensures a long shelf-life. Hot-stamped printing guarantees graphics that will not scratch, smear, or fade. For more than fifty years, Unit Pack has recognized not only the importance of providing the best products and services, but also forging long-standing partnerships with clients working in the fields of cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and industrials.
