Unilux Names Joe Zhao Sales Manager for Paper Industry in China

SADDLE BROOK, NJ May 1: Unilux, the world's leading designer and manufacturer of stroboscopic surface inspection systems, has named Joe Zhao as sales manager for China. Based in Shanghai, he will lead Unilux's push into an industry that is growing rapidly to keep pace with the domestic demand for its products.

"Joe gives us a new dimension in the Chinese paper market," said Mike Simonis, president of Unilux, Inc. "With his sales, marketing and technical service background, he will be able to demonstrate our inspection systems and work with paper mill managers and engineers to determine the best Unilux strobe light and location for their specific needs. Together with Frank Fang, our service manager who services all Unilux equipment in China, we will have one of the strongest, most responsive service and repair facilities for stroboscopic inspection lights in the country."

Before joining Unilux, Zhao worked in technical support and marketing for Printing Mode in Shijiazhuang. He was also regional sales manager for eastern China for a manufacturer of metal forming machinery and systems and was an advertising agency account executive. He holds an Associate Degree in Manufacturing Equipment Design and Technology from HeBei University of Science and Technology and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Glorious Sun Business & Management School of Donghua University.

"Unilux has a wide-open market for inspection lights in China," Zhao said. "The demand for paper is growing with the demand for more printing and packaged goods as the Chinese consumer market continues to expand. We expect the number of mills to grow dramatically in the next few years, and we will be able to help them maintain productivity and quality with our service and repair center and with our access to the latest Unilux technology."

Kirk Nell ,Unilux's Asia manager, said Zhao's technical and sales background and his fluency in English will help Unilux better serve its customers by adding value to products and business relationships.

"Joe knows what Unilux inspection lighting systems can do in production facilities of all sizes," Nell said. "He'll be able to provide good feedback for us in developing systems that meet their production needs and budgets. Joe will be especially helpful in showing how a powerful, durable light can provide a better life-cycle value that results in more cost-efficient productivity."

Unilux offers three portable stroboscopic inspection lights for the paper making industry, which allow operators and engineers to examine paper quality issues such as formation, head box, dewatering, stock jump and turbulence problems and monitor felt & wire, bearing and gear wear. The Hi-Lighter, Miti-Lite and Beacon all can be synched with still or video cameras to provide images for process review and modification. The Hi-Lighter and Miti-Lite are capable of lighting a wide area of the paper web with a flood pattern, and the Beacon can highlight minute defects across the web with its spot pattern. The Beacon and Miti-Lite are handheld, battery-powered strobe lights that can also be used to spot problems during machine maintenance and start-up.
