Two BorgWarner Innovations Named to Automotive News Top 25 PACE Awards List

R2S® Turbocharger Technology and DualTronic® Dual-Clutch Transmission

Technology Make the All-Time Best List for PACE Awards

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 7 -- Two BorgWarner innovations - regulated two-stage (R2S) turbocharging technology and DualTronic dual clutch transmission technology - have been named to the Automotive News Top 25 PACE Awards list. The distinguished list acknowledges the top 25 innovations from over 400 prior PACE award finalists and honorable mentions that have changed the nature of the auto industry over the past 15 years. BorgWarner received a 2008 PACE Award for its R2S® turbocharger technology and a 2005 PACE Award for its DualTronic® dual-clutch transmission technology.

For 15 years, the annual Automotive News PACE Awards have honored superior innovation, technological advancement and business performance among automotive suppliers. PACE stands for Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contribution to Excellence.

In the past five years, three BorgWarner innovations have received PACE awards and six have reached finalist status. BorgWarner received a 2008 PACE Award for its R2S® regulated two-stage turbocharger technology, 2007 PACE Award for its variable turbine geometry (VTG) gasoline turbocharger, and 2005 PACE Award for its DualTronic® wet-clutch and control-system technology for a new-concept automated transmission. In addition, BorgWarner and Porsche were presented with two special PACE recognitions in 2007 for their successful collaboration on the Porsche 911 Turbo for the VTG turbocharger and all-wheel drive technology.

Additionally, BorgWarner has received one honorable mention, and two of its innovations have been named finalists in the 2009 PACE Award competition. Winners will be announced in Detroit on April 20.
