TTI Asia Presents 2011 Supplier Awards to Vishay Asia
SINGAPORE - May 3, 2012 - TTI Electronics Asia and Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE:VSH) today announced that Vishay Asia has received the following awards:
o TTI 2011 Diamond Award, Asia
o TTI 2011 Supplier Excellence Award, Asia
o TTI 2011 Best Quality Award, Asia
In addition, Vishay won TTI 2011 Supplier Excellence Awards in North America and Europe, and the TTI 2011 Global Operations Excellence Award. The TTI supplier awards program is centered on quality measurements including on-time delivery, receiving quality, customer quality, administrative quality, and business systems. There also are performance measurements including sales results, profitability, and percent growth.
Supplier Excellence Award winners are determined by performance points for these criteria. The Diamond Award is given for the highest overall point achievement in a region and the Best Quality Award is given to the supplier who scores highest in each of the Quality categories. The Global Operations Excellence Award was given to Vishay for earning Supplier Excellence Awards in all three TTI regions (North America, Europe, and Asia) and scoring the highest total points globally.
This is the fifth year that TTI Asia has given out the Supplier Excellence Awards. The intent of this program is to foster continuous improvement in supplier and distributor performance, by providing monthly performance results to all suppliers. Overall supplier performance has substantially improved since the inception of the recognition program.
TTI Asia presented the awards to Vishay Asia in recognition of its high levels of service and quality support to TTI. The TTI awards for Asia were presented on April 12 at Vishay's Singapore office by Gene Conahan, president, TTI Asia. They were received on behalf of Vishay by Christopher Tan, administrative president, Vishay Asia.
