TRW Integrated Safety Strategy To Be Unveiled at IAA Exhibition

LIVONIA, Mich., July 11 / / -- TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. (NYSE:TRW) today announced plans to highlight its intelligent and integrated safety systems at this year's Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA), International Motorshow, in Frankfurt, Germany, from September 11 - 23. The Company will demonstrate how such systems help prevent accidents, protect passengers, and offer value to customers and end consumers. In addition, TRW will showcase its range of fuel efficient technologies such as hybrid braking and electrically powered steering systems.

John Plant, TRW Automotive president and chief executive officer, explained: "IAA is an ideal event for us to demonstrate how we're taking safety to the next level: both in terms of the integration of active and passive safety systems and in developing technologies which also support consumer, vehicle manufacturer and government targets to reduce emissions.

"TRW has developed a suite of environmental sensors to gain a complete picture of the driving environment, which enables the most appropriate application of its broad range of active and passive safety technologies."

TRW Automotive's stand will focus on three key areas: safety, the environment and its global capabilities.

Executive vice president sales & business development, Peter Lake, explained: "We believe TRW has the portfolio with the most extensive capabilities in safety and, as well as showcasing our range at IAA, we will demonstrate how we will support our customers as they work to meet international targets to reduce traffic fatalities and reduce emissions. It is our strategy to develop technologies which offer our customers and the end consumers the value which we believe should increase the fitment rate of intelligent safety systems.

"Studies have shown that the potential value of safety and driver assist systems increase as higher proportions of the vehicle fleet feature these technologies. To this end, for the mass market or "C" segment typical family car, we've developed a series of mid range, lower cost sensors including radar for adaptive cruise control and a camera for lane departure warning systems. Other examples of such market positioning are the development of our latest generation electrically powered hydraulic steering, or Active Dynamic Control suspension technology, both of which are very competitive systems with advanced functionality."

The Company's exhibit at the Frankfurt IAA show in September will bring TRW's capabilities to life through high tech presentations, demonstrations, simulations and presentations. The stand can be found at booth F18 in Hall 8.
