Original Press Release:

TRFA Launches New Website

Glen Ellyn, IL-The Thermoset Resin Formulators Association (TRFA) has launched a newly-designed website at www.trfa.org. Previewed at the association's 2009 Annual Meeting September 13 - 15 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the new site features bolder graphics, easier access to member information, and a wealth of accessible industry information. The TRFA Members-Only site will continue to feature access to all TRFA Technical Paper Presentations, including those from the 2009 Annual Meeting.

The new website reflects the growing role of TRFA in the thermoset resin industry.
TRFA is the only organization dedicated to serving the needs and interests of all thermoset formulators and has a broader focus than just epoxy.

One of the most innovative features of the revamped website is a new Q&A format aptly titled "ASK TRFA." It is designed as a resource for people to obtain information and ask technical, logistics and management questions regarding the thermoset resin industry. Questions posted on the website will be forwarded to legal counsel and then to the appropriate committee chairman for the committee to answer. Submitters of questions will remain anonymous. Answers to general technical questions will not involve confidential information or trade secrets. The most current questions and
responses will be posted on the public website. Old questions and answers will be archived on the members-only website, creating a body of Q&A information on which TRFA members may draw.

Additional enhancements to the website include a growing body of regulatory information. The TRFA Regulatory Affairs Committee has published an important list of more than 160 regulatory acronyms, available on the association website. TRFA Fact Sheets covering regulations that have been passed by governments and Issue Alerts, covering new issues, trends, etc., that are not yet regulations, are now on the Members Only Website. Currently, Issue Alerts are available on : Bisphenol A (BPA), Greenhouse Gas Reporting, Globally Harmonized System (GHS), and TSCA Reform. Fact sheets are available on Canadian Chemicals Management Plan (CMP) and Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH).

Special thanks to Valerie Walker, Crosslink Technology Inc.; John Cech, CVC Thermoset Specialties; Vinay Mishra, ITW Devcon; and Jason Tuerack, Broadview Technologies for their considerable time and talent investment in designing and fine-tuning the website. The website address remains www.trfa.org.

TRFA is comprised

of thermoset formulators and fabricators, raw material suppliers, distributors, equipment manufacturers, manufacturer sales representatives of materials or equipment, importers of raw materials or processing or other equipment, consulting firms and academic institutions serving industries which include adhesives, coatings, civil engineering applications, electrical laminates, composites, tooling, castings and moldings.
