o John Hennessy appointed Vice President of Sales

o Lori Drescher promoted to Vice President of Business Process Improvement

Rochester, NY, February 26, 2008 - Transcat, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRNS), a leading global distributor of professional grade test, measurement and calibration instruments and accredited provider of calibration and repair services, today announced that John Hennessy recently joined the Company as its Vice President of Sales. Mr. Hennessy will be responsible for aligning sales objectives and performance with the overall company strategic goals. Mr. Hennessy most recently was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sunstar Americas where he led the in-house and field sales teams and sales operations through multiple years of double digit growth. His experience includes over 30 years of sales and marketing management with companies such as Bausch & Lomb and Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ). Mr. Hennessy graduated with a B.S. from Hobart College in Geneva, New York and an M.B.A. from Syracuse University.

Mr. Charles Hadeed, Chief Executive Officer of Transcat, commented, "We are focused on growing our calibration services business in order to gain the operating leverage inherent in that segment. The Company also announced the promotion of Lori Drescher to Vice President of Business Process Improvement and Training. In her new role, Ms. Drescher will focus on identifying opportunities to improve operational processes and productivity. Since October 2006, Ms. Drescher held the position of Senior Director of Inside Sales and Customer Service with responsibility for a team of 35 inside sales and customer service representatives. For seven years prior to joining Transcat, Ms. Drescher was the owner of a business and strategy consulting and organizational development firm, Great-Company. Ms. Drescher earned a B.S. in Business Administration from State University of New York College at Brockport.

Mr. Hadeed noted, "Lori has significantly contributed to the growth and development of our inside sales and customer service team over the last year, and we fully intend to capitalize on her strengths to drive process improvement and add value to all aspects of our operations."
