Toyota Number One in Lift Truck Sales for Seventh Consecutive Year

IRVINE, Calif., (Sept. 1, 2009) - Toyota ranked as the world's largest lift truck supplier for the seventh consecutive year in Modern Materials Handling's Annual Top 20 ranking. Toyota reported $6.51 billion in sales revenue for the 2008 fiscal year, and the publication called out the company's "strong grasp on the top slot."

"Toyota is pleased to have been consecutively ranked the number one lift truck supplier worldwide," said Brett Wood, president of Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. "We thank our dealers for their industry leading customer service and support and our customers for their loyalty. They have made this honor possible once again."

To be eligible for Modern Materials Handling's Annual Top 20 ranking, companies must manufacture and sell lift trucks in at least one of the Industrial Truck Association's (ITA) truck classes. Rankings are based on worldwide revenue from powered industrial trucks during each company's most recent fiscal year.
