Toyota Announces Management Changes

IRVINE, Calif., (June 14, 2006) - Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. (TMHU) today announced several management changes, including Hugh Quinnell as national manager - major account parts and service operations; Michael Gunn as national information technology manager; Bruce Marti as national manager - parts and service field operations and customer service support; Jewell Brown as manager of customer satisfaction; and David Pearlman as manager of the STARLIFT program. "Toyota is pleased to announce the new roles of these associates," said Shankar Basu, president and CEO of TMHU. "These talented individuals exemplify Toyota's commitment to supporting its customers and delivering the number one selling lift truck in the U.S." Quinnell, as national manager - major account parts and service operations, will assume responsibility for a new department that will be responsible for all areas of aftermarket sales support to national account and fleet customers. He will oversee major account customers with service and parts related matters including: fleet and asset management, fleet metrics, product quality, customer satisfaction, warranty administration, technical training and technical assistance. Quinnell has been a Toyota associate since 1983 and has held a variety of management positions including national service operations manager at Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing. He earned his bachelor's degree from California State University and master's of arts and management degree from the University of Redlands. Quinnell resides in Orange County, Calif. Gunn, as national information technology manager, will select, guide and direct TMHU's information systems development projects, as well as manage his current distribution responsibilities. Gunn brings to Toyota more than 30 years experience in the material handling industry, 25 spent with the company. He earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University and has a master's degree in management with an emphasis in finance and marketing from Northwestern University. Gunn lives in Nashville, Ind. Marti, serving as national manager - parts and service field operations and customer service support, will further develop business opportunities through the Toyota network of dealers. Marti has worked with Toyota since 1990. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin in River Falls and resides in Corona, Calif. In her role as manager of customer satisfaction, Brown will oversee the Voice of the Customer (VOC) program, which surveys customers about their total experience with Toyota in the areas of sales, delivery, warranty, service and parts. She will focus on developing and expanding the customer satisfaction portion of the program. Brown helped launch the 800-customer satisfaction line in 2004, the dealer survey in 2006 and previously trained dealers on the value of customer satisfaction. She has worked with the company since 1997 and lives in Westchester, Calif. As manager of the STARLIFT all-makes competitive parts program, Pearlman will be responsible for growing the aftermarket parts sales department. He will continue to promote STARLIFT as a one-stop shop of high-quality parts for a wide range of material handling equipment. Pearlman has been a part of the Toyota team since 1994.
