TimBar Supports Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week

(Hanover, Pennsylvania)  For 36 years, the Foundation for Free Enterprise Education has been presenting Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week.  This program educates high school students about the American free enterprise system by bringing motivated high school junior and seniors together with business people.

Program participants learn to appreciate our free enterprise system and see from a practitioner's perspective what it takes to be successful in an increasingly competitive global marketplace. Students attend lectures and participate in learning exercises.  They also simulate the actual operation of their own business; facing all of the decisions that real executives are confronted by.  Student companies are mentored by business volunteers who serve as Advisors sharing their knowledge and expertise.

Matthew Heleva, President/CEO for TimBar stated, “TimBar has been a proud supporter of this program for the past three years because it helps to ensure Pennsylvania businesses remain competitive through the education and development of our future workforce.  It’s a great program and we encourage other Pennsylvania manufacturers to get involved”.  Four one-week sessions are held during July and August at the Lycoming College campus and the Pennsylvania College of Technology.
