Thomas & Betts Improves Availability of its Nylon Backshells with Domestic Manufacturing

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Thomas Betts (T&B), a member of the ABB Group, has enhanced the availability of its Harnessflex® product line by localizing manufacturing to the United States on select high-demand products.

The plants will be manufacturing nylon components. The specific products affected are select Harnessflex back shells for automotive electrical wiring.

“The addition of domestic manufacturing operations for these products will improve lead times, provide more supply flexibility and provide a manufactured-in-USA option,” said Ralph Donati, product marketing director at T&B. “Dual sourcing will enable us to respond more effectively to capacity constraints and demand spikes, while providing our end-user customers with opportunities to enhance their multinational presence.”

The nylon back shells for Harnessflex flexible conduit systems will be manufactured to have Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation for the automotive and aerospace industries.
