Service modules can be individually booked, now, to best meet customer needs

Karlsruhe, Germany, (29. May 2008) - Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, introduced a new service concept for its lab extruders, mixers and rheometers as well as viscometers: Customers now can tailor a service package from various modules to best meet their needs.

"We are committed to providing services that meet individual requirements due to the nature of our customers' business or applications. Pre-set support plans cannot accomplish this attitude! ", says Markus Schreyer, vice president and general manager of Thermo Fisher Scientific's material characterization business unit. "Our customer-centered service modules cover all services that are needed for our rheometers, viscometers, lab extruders or mixers, including installation, inspection, validation, repairs, maintenance, and training. Our 'All-you-need service system' enables customers to select the modules that are relevant or necessary for them. "

The modules in detail:

o Installation - on-site installation, operating instruction, unit optimization for production process
o Training - basic and advanced training
o Warranty Extension - original warranty extended for an additional year
o Maintenance & Calibration - equipment validation and service
o Repair & Inspection - equipment inspection or repair by certified engineers
o Travel & Expenses - flat rate for on-site maintenance
o Emergency Response - enhanced, on-site repairs and minimized downtimes
