Thermo Fisher Scientific Adds EM2 Solutions to Its Global Partner Alliance, Strengthening Company's Informatics Offerings for Environmental Laboratories
PHILADELPHIA (October 6, 2010) - Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today announced that it has extended its relationship with EM2 Solutions to more comprehensively serve the needs of environmental testing organizations. EM2 Solutions has been a member of the Thermo Scientific Global Partner Alliance since 2009, initially acting in the primary role of consultant leveraging their strong quality management and informatics systems background. EM2 has recently been working with Thermo Scientific Informatics strategic development teams to define a new solution for water, wastewater and environmental testing labs based on the company's flagship Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), SampleManager, the industry standard LIMS solution for commercial and public sector testing labs. As National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Council (NELAC) auditors, EM2 consultants have evaluated numerous labs and lab systems solutions and used that industry knowledge and skill set to define a series of SampleManager configurations that now deliver an off-the-shelf, lab-ready environmental testing product.
EM2 will also provide services and support for the full range of Thermo Scientific Informatics solutions that serve the environmental testing industry, which include quality systems implementation, audit services, laboratory data management, as well as NELAC and industry regulatory requirement support. With extensive experience and expertise in delivering solutions to analytical laboratories/chemists, EM2's partnership with Thermo Fisher Scientific will also inform and support the product development process so that Thermo Scientific Informatics solutions to these industries will be in line with specific regulatory and business challenges.
EM2 Chief Executive Officer Jeanne Mensingh will deliver a presentation at the upcoming Gulf Coast Conference, October 12-13 in Galveston, Texas. Mensingh, who has extensive experience in quality management and process improvement in laboratory, quality and regulated environments, will deliver "Meeting Water and Environmental Regulatory Requirements with a LIMS Solution." This presentation will review how Thermo Fisher Scientific and EM2 Solutions have partnered to formulate a Water and Environmental LIMS Solution based on Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS 10.0 which meets ISO 17025/NELAC requirements, is capable of seamless integration with other software and is expandable for future growth. This presentation will show how the Thermo Scientific Water and Environmental Solution meets key ISO 17025/NELAC requirements related to sample tracking, traceability, statement of work (SOW) and contract review (quotes and invoicing), preparation and analytical batches, instrument integration and reporting.
