Original Press Release:

A New Era of Material Handling Information

The MHEDA Journal unveils a new online experience for readers.

Dewitt, NY - On July 15, The MHEDA Journal (TMJ), the leading online magazine for the forklift, storage and handling, and general material handling equipment industries, launched a brand new website at www.TheMhedaJournal.org. This flexible, interactive community allows for real-time news posting and reader input. The new format permits the editorial staff to post articles and stories as they come in. No longer will readers need to wait until next quarter to find out about the latest industry trends and best practices.

In addition to being updated with new articles and news stories several times a week, the association's publication for young executives, MHEDA Edge, has been folded into the new site. A special link on the homepage takes readers to a section specifically for those edgier, thought-provoking articles that have been a staple of the Edge for years.

The new site is fully integrated with MHEDA's social media initiatives. The Editors' blogs are housed on the site, with the most recent entries featured on the homepage. A live Twitter feed shows visitors everything that's being said about the association and its publications. A comment section has been included with each article, with the most recent postings highlighted on the homepage. Icons on each article allow visitors to easily share site content with e-mail contacts and social media followers. It's all part of the site's effort to be a vehicle for participation instead of merely the consumption of information.

Though it boasts many features, the real power of the new TMJ site doesn't lie in the technology. The real power of the site, and what has always made MHEDA publications stand out, is the input of the association membership. The new site features more ways for members to provide commentary and feedback to make the magazine the best it can be.
