Texas Instruments and Arrow Electronics Present Live Analog eLab Webcast on Noise Reduction in Analog Applications

DALLAS (February 24, 2006) - Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) and Arrow Electronics Inc. (NYSE: ARW) will present a live Analog eLab Webcast entitled "Managing Noise and Ground in Precision Analog System Applications" on Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. CST (18:00 hrs CET). TI analog expert Bill Klein, P.E. and eLab panelists, Bonnie Baker of TI and Dwight Curry of Arrow Electronics, will provide designers with an online discussion on how to keep noise out of sensitive input circuits. Analog design engineers are invited to register now at www.ti.com/analogelab to view the Webcast from their PCs.

During the hour-long session, the panelists will discuss the three sources of noise, the paths on which it can travel and the challenges involved with effectively reducing noise to tolerable levels. They will offer advice on the proper selection and placement of isolating and limiting components that keep analog and digital noise out of sensitive input circuits. And, because sensor applications often have low-level signals, the eLab engineers will offer insights on successful design layout techniques.

During the lab segment, Klein and Baker will demonstrate noise reduction techniques that are essential for maintaining harmony between the sensor circuit, analog circuitry and processor. The performance of several PCB renditions of an ADC application will be demonstrated. Improvements in performance will be seen as the design rules are utilized in the construction of the PCBs.

Analog eLab Design Engineers

Bill Klein, P.E. is the host for the TI Analog eLab Webcast. Klein is a senior applications engineer with the high performance linear division of TI. He joined TI through its acquisition of Burr-Brown in August 2000. Klein is the author of over 50 magazine articles, application notes and conference papers. His experience as an analog circuit designer covers 30 years in fields ranging from mineral exploration to medical nuclear imaging.

Bonnie Baker is a senior applications engineer with the data acquisition products division of TI. She began her career at Burr-Brown as a manufacturing product engineer, and has over 20 years of analog and digital system and design experience. In addition to her monthly column, Baker's Best in EDN magazine, she has written over 200 articles, design notes and applications notes, and is a frequent presenter at technical conferences and shows. Baker earned a M.S. in electrical engineering from The University of Arizona.

Dwight Curry is an applications engineer for Arrow Electronics. His 20 years of engineering design experience includes automated test equipment, embedded high-speed motion control systems and professional audio processing equipment. Curry's current work ranges from technology seminar presentations to extensive troubleshooting of customers' analog designs. His B.S.E.E. is from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
