Synology Releases Its Synology Disk Station Manager 2.0 Beta


AJAX-based User Interface, IP Camera support, and many other new features make for an all new NAS experience

Taipei, Taiwan-February 4, 2008-Today, Synology Inc. has released to the public the beta version of the Synology Disk Station Manager 2.0. This is a significant milestone in the evolution of the NAS experience. The beta version of the Synology Disk Station Manager 2.0 is a break-though in NAS capabilities. It offers users free upgrades, drag and drop functionality from the web interface, multiple IP camera support, and a new worry-free office backup utility. It is rich in features, yet simple to use.

AJAX Management UI: The brand new management interface utilizes AJAX technology, which brings you the familiar Windows experience.
Surveillance Station: Turn your Synology Disk Station into a network video recorder (NVR) by connecting IP cameras to the network, and recording videos to the Synology Disk Stations.
Sony PlayStation 3 Support: Sony PlayStation 3 is now supported as a digital media adapter device.
Photo Station 3: Photo Station 3 has a brand new blogging system.
Expandable RAID 5 Volume: Now you can add a new hard drive to expand the RAID 5 volume on the fly. No more volume deletions and re-creations are needed.
MySQL Update: MySQL is now upgraded to 5.0.51.
Ez-Internet Enhancement: More DDNS service providers are supported: NoIP.com, 3322.org, and TwoDNS.de.
Secure SMTP Support: In the email notification settings, you are now able to enter a customized port number and select SSL connection.
Quick Switch Display Language: You can switch the display language quickly from the management interface without changing the browser settings.
FTP with SSL/TLS for all models: FTP with SSL/TLS is now supported on all models.
HTTPS for all models: HTTPS is now supported on all models.
Encrypted Network Backup for all models: Encrypted Network Backup is supported on all models.
New Audio Station: Audio Station comes with a brand new, sleek look.
